A top rate of £5 a ticket is a good deal for this, but does anyone else get a bit annoyed with small/smaller print that contains compulsory surcharges? The line underneath states “A £1 fee will be applied per transaction for online bookings, telephone bookings and group bookings of fewer than 20 tickets.”. I just wish these types of surcharges were not added and the ticket just contained a clear total cost. I also don’t ever agree with surcharges for booking online where there is no human interaction and I am doing all the work.

I can understand the logic behind doing this if, say, you're trying to sell something for £99.99 and don't want to add the 3 quid booking fee on top because that would push the headline price over a hundred quid. But adding a semi hidden quid to a £5 price suggests an unthinking jobsworth is at the controls.
Anyone got a rational explanation as to why this practice continues to exist?
