Title: What is it with refs.zJust
Post by: oliver on October 25, 2025, 01:12:41 pm
Just watched  Leeds game last night the ref twice made the ball  be moved about 2cms at a corner yet allowed free kicks and throw ins to be taken anywhere the players want

It annoys the life out of me as well. In our lat game our player went down a yard or so into the penalty area and the goalie took the free kick from a yard or more outside the area. The linesman just stood in line where he placed the ball. Why don’t Lino’s stand in line with an infringement so that the ball has to be in line with them. This would be easy for both ref and Lino who are miked up as well.

It's crazy as they allow players to steal 10 ft on a throw in

How about getting the linesman to stand where the ball should be thrown from and if the thrower goes past him then it becomes a fouls throw.

Lino’s regularly stand where it should be taken from and then just watch the players run or walk past them. You used to turn over possession if you pinched yardage like that. Go back to how it was and it would quickly cut this out.

It’s not just throw ins either is it.
I remember a match last season when we gave away a free kick about two yards from the corner flag.
There was a bit of a delay while their player had treatment and when the keeper took the free kick it was about twenty yards further up the pitch.

Yes I was going mad at that one. It seems as though the officials just don’t care.

And then we get the situation where a keeper gets a yellow card for wasting time but you can take as long as you want for a throw in.

Absolutely Idler. I remember that clearly.

Referee today ran to look at a Corner that may have been a millimeter out of the quadrant like that makes any difference and yet the officials today and in that game allow Throw ins to be taken 10 or more yards from the real place the ball went out

Free kicks for offside .... well keeper if time wasting waves to Lino and seeks permission to take the kick from the correct place (to waste time) but the Lino stands in line with the offence and the Keeper the n bounces the ball , spins the ball forwards as they do and gains 5 or 10 yards gaining a huge advantage compared to a millimeter at a Corner and the Lino should stay ROOTED and wave his flag to tell the Ref the ball is massively forward from where it should be

BUT does he ? NO he sets off running for the Half way line and the advantage is "secured"

Good job todays Muppet wasnt in charge last week. Books TLT after 33 mins ffs and that was about the amount of time wasted by their keeper throughout last weeks game . He was cheating even when they were at 0 0

It shows the inconsistency between Refs and an individuals inconsistency  during the one game such as today
