If Sterry and Clifton were  fit I would agree

I wonder where Bailey is going to play? Just in front of a back 4? just behind Sharp, alongside Close?

I am REALLY hoping my prediction doesn't come true (20 minutes, we go 1 down, game over), but I don't have a good feeling about this one.

Maybe as good a line up as we could hope for given the players available.

Pleased Broadbent restored allowing Ckose to buzz around a bit more, maybe alternating with Bailey to push forward.

Looks like Grehan playing full back again, whilst not ideal, I'm sure he'll do his best with basic defending.

Not going to be easy and it's not a good hunting ground for us but please, get that ball into where it hurts without hesitation.

Nowt to lose. Go for it!!

Without billy scoring difficult to see where a goal is coming from. I hope I am wrong and we at last secure a win there

About this ONE? I can't see where the next win is coming from; or the next goal for that matter.

Come on, lads, make my comments totally wrong.

Hit the Reading elbow there, arm close enough to body. No pen.

Not sure about that, his elbows quite far out and he makes a slight movement towards the ball

Sharp needs more support up front. Maybe not the two upfront but omeone just behind him

How the hell has he not given a penalty for that foul on Molyneux?

Their lad knew he couldn't make a fair tackle. But he's launched into Molyneux's ankle. Makes no difference that he hit him after the shot. In fact it makes it worse. Anywhere else on the pitch, that is a yellow card. Dreadful decision.

Are we playing 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3 with Bailey Close and Broadbent as the 3 in midfield?
Title: Re: Reading V TLOD
Post by: steve@dcfd on October 25, 2025, 04:05:17 pm
Looking at the subs theirs only Jordon Gibson that we could bring on
Any of the others we will end up losing
Ajayi and Olsanya two waste of loan signings
Crew dawdles about the pitch and doesn’t add anything
Gotts might add something but he’s not the player that GM said he would be.
So unless there are any injuries I don’t see what any of the subs apart from Gibson can add

We need so pace in midfield or someone to run into the space

Teams are still targeting Mols.
It was the same thing when he was injured in that game a few weeks ago which put him out of action for a short while and he hasn’t got back to the top of his game since.
It’s a mystery though why refs don’t give pens for stuff like that one today.

I feel a bit negative and mean even thinking this but I’m starting to think we (the club and manager) may have been a bit naive about how many of our squad would be able to make the transition to L1. It hasn’t taken long for us to come undone.

Agreed on the last two but what has that got to do with the comment on the keepers.

But the team is what it is we don’t score enough we were like this last season until we got Street in January. Hanlan and Olusanya two worst striking signings we have made about time we accept we haven’t got the forward players to win sufficient games in league 1

2 points dropped and an opportunity to build some much needed confidence wasted thanks to the baffling continuance of picking an utterly useless goalkeeper.

Yes but the point today has halted a run of 3 consecutive defeats on the road. At a place that we usually struggle and against a team who’ve been better than their league position suggests recently. I imagine you’d have taken a point before the game and so would 99% of our fans.

It should definitely be back to clown school for both our keepers. That was a game we should have won today. Yet again though we take the lead and then sit back. The player who scored their goal was given far too much space and time before Clown 1 messed things up.
A big improvement overall though compared to recent games. Please Grant don't make too many changes for the Crewe game though. We need to establish a settles team.

Would have taken a point before the game given our record against them, but we could have easily won it, we were really good second half & unlucky not to go 2 up before our obligatory mistake gifting them a point.

Plenty of positives today & thought Reading had ran out of ideas & offered little or nothing before their goal. Good performance overall, & one that should have earnt us 3 points. No midweek games so same team for me at Crewe, build up some understanding, thought we looked really solid at the back & in midfield.
