Title: Donny down under
Post by: DonnyAps on November 20, 2025, 07:09:49 pm
Just wondering if any Rovers fans are of to Oz for the Ashes.
I’m doing Adelaide, Melbourne and Sidney so be good to meet up.
Look out for the flag, especially as all tickets are through Cricket Australia so sat away from Barmy Army.

Tom Biltcliffe Rovers supportors is working in Australia he will be at some of the Test matches but not sure about Perth as he was in the other side of Australia. (Incidentially I have known Tom and his Dad for many years and always had my suspicion's that Tom was a secret Dingle supportor "Turncoat"). His Dad Stuart is again a long time Rovers supportor and Season Ticket holdrer in the West Stand. I am sure Stuart will be over in Australia at some stage to watch one of the test matchs. And not a brilliant start to the Perth test !!.

You knew England's batter would collapse twice. You knew the Aussie batters wouldn't let that happen to themselves twice. This england need to bat like 10 year olds whacking everything for 6. Stupid stupid stupid wickets, and so easy to bowl against

All the big guns went into hiding today. Have Aussies got into Root? His no century record there has been ran by them for months now.

Root looks to have piled some weight on since the last series against India.  I know there's plenty of examples of much bigger men at the top of the game but Root has never been that, perhaps taken the edge off his game?

Bar the Stokes and Duckett wicket. The other 8 wickets they didn't have to bowl unplayable deliveries or work hard for the wickets.

Their first team bowlers are playing in the next match too.

Got to find someone to play instead of Crawley.

Why on a wicket like that are we not bowling short and to the throat of Travis Head? Instead they give him room to swing the bat, nce he started the momentum in runs our bowlers crumbled

We have a group of talented cricketers but do they lack the brains or the desire to compete?  Both in my view.

We've got a gung ho coach, a gung ho captain and a gung ho mindset. It looks as if there is no one any with brain, grit or determination at all.

Need a batter like Boycott that can play the anchor role and graft for runs .Not going to get that with that coach or captain.

Even Chris Tavare, Mike Brearley or David Steele would be more use than some of this lot.

(And I'd have Brearley every single day of the week - for reasons other than his batting!)
