Two caught ant bowled driving on the up and one caught and bowled dropped doing the same thing says otherwise, two reviews when they obviously hit it wasting reviews, absolute brainless cricket, there’s only Root that can dig in, the rest are one day cloggers

My lad, who's a very good good all rounder, and I have been slyly watching Channel7 via my VPN. His view is that the preparation was "shit", the tactics are "farcical", the team selection has followed "theory rather than evidence", and that Duckett has passed his sell by date. Without major changes, he reckons another 5-0.
Basball is great for knocking over weaker sides. But face a good side and they'll just pick you off.

Was looking at an analysis of the amount of cricket played with the squad members. They’re so rarely out in the middle in competitive games it beggars belief. It makes the absence of any kind of pre-series warm up games all the more criminal, not to mention them turning down the opportunity to play some pink ball under lights when they were given that option a few days ago.

What level does your lad play at, Bob?
It’s a tough watch really and although when it’s going well there’s a lot to like about the way we play, when it’s going badly it’s downright awful. The stubbornness & arrogance within the side infuriates me; we must be the easiest side in the world to play against. Just keep banging it in outside off and 9 times out of 10 it will work against the majority of the batsmen. Root & Stokes are the only batsmen capable of playing with any sort of grit or application. Harry Brook could be a world beater if he could just engage what’s between his ears.
Would be nice to see a player picked off the back of a decent body of work at county level rather than vibes or how well their face fits on the golf course.

Look at what Windies did against an arguably better side in New Zealand yesterday. Dug in and showed some serious bottle.
Ours is brain dead cricket as stated. Really frustrating.

Nick. He's spent time with Gloucestershire age groups as an opening bat and a quick bowler who swings it both ways. He got a back issue a couple of years ago so to pay his bills he's got a job he's enjoying quite a bit. That's led to girlfriend and commitments so I think his career isn't going any further. A shame. Two separate international players told me he has the potential to play for England. Not that that is too difficult right now....

The batting was always going to be a problem under the bazball regime but in this series I think it's been pretty much par with the Ausies' batting. Our problem now is a third rate bowling attack. None of them can bowl line and length. They get wickets because the batsmen are never expecting the odd good ball they produce.

Agree that shot from Brook when your trying to save a Test match was a disgrace.As somebody suggested not a lot between the ears and the coach is'nt much better.
