Wow firstly for the complete performance of the starting eleven and subs ! Every single payer was up for it and confident we would do it .
TNT tv was very good on its researched presentation of both clubs.
the interview with PaulCook was good and thst with OUR Paul and his gmome showed how much more meaningful community football is .Our game on TNT was preceded by Inter v Como …snzzzz !
-
Proper cup game that. Both sides wanted it. But 2 wins over Chessie in a week. Redemption for last season. Well done lads. Support was loud and proud too. All round excellent
-
Watched it in a very noisy pub so could'nt hear any comms. Puzzled as to why they kept going over to the Chesterfield assistant, didn't notice they gave us that same privilege?
-
They did , including a long interview with Paul and Gnome and a short one minute with Grant .
-
A great advert for lower league football. Both sides trying to win and full blooded tackling. Not sure about the Fleck red but we’ve had plenty of dodgy decisions against us + the ref, however competent (or otherwise) was very close to it and gave it straight away. Great pass by McGrath and finish by Senior - pure quality! :rtid:
-
A red all day long, studs right down the shin, the lack of protests from the Chesterfield players says all you need to know
-
I just have to say how my heart sang to see Paul Cook slap Owen Bailey on the back on the touch line just minutes after Owen has equalised ,How I love football people at this level !

I don’t disagree but the refs we get usually bottle it and I’ve seen many like that just get a yellow. I never for a second expected a red but credit to the ref - as I said, he was close to it and never hesitated.
-
Red all day IMO as well.
High and reckless challenge.
-
Tnt called us the dons. Ive never known us to be called the dons before
-
I suspect she had been in our away dressing room for some reason to call us Dons but apart from that she was way better than the Sky folk
-
TNT were very poor in respect to us, made Chesterfield sound like they were a Champions League Club and way above us. Called us the Dons, stated Paul was the secretary of the trust not supporters club, other than that all was good
-
Some trouble after game I hear.
-
If that was a red maxwell got away with one after half an hour, he was that late he missed the bus.
Agree time we got the run of the ball and the calls went our way a bit.

The Maxwell one looked a horrible challenge live. I thought it looked a red, not seen a replay.
-
Oh yes, one of the many times he loses control!
-
Great result and good performance.
A great captain fantastic reply from a peach of a cross from Moly.
Jack Senior two in two games with different finishes but huge credit for getting into those positions, plus a great pick out pass from McGrath Would love to see Maxwell doing the same as he is capable of adding this to overall game. We don't see enough of his surging runs into enemy territory.
Fleck didn't give the ref much choice with the height of his raised boot. Dangerous challenge.
Onwards and upwards.

Just got back and I thought all the subs contributed to the win. I appreciate Chesterfield were down to 10 men. Crew had the best 45mins this season no strolling he passed the ball well and pressed and tackled.
Ajayi played well on the right
Billy didn't have many chances but took one which was offside well the lines man flagged.
Close again passed the ball well
Senior had two shots and scored with one.
Both sides worked hard was glad we came out on top.

They did mention he is secretary of the supporters club from 1981.

It was all I love about the FA Cup, a last minute winner in front of our fans in a local derby. Massive big up to Grant for knowing what this competition still means to himself & our clubs supporters, & delivering . Will say it again, we are so lucky to have him at the helm.
-
Imagine if the little green men came to Earth and said, "We do not understand your obsession with this game you call football. Show us an example of why you believe it combines the heights of artistic expression and physicality, so that we can better comprehend what humans value."

That is THE archetypally "perfect" goal.
-
I'm genuinely frightened of losing Mols.
Other clubs will be buzzing around him like flies around a cow's arsehole.

Sharp v their fans in the first half. He loves a wind up. Such a shame his goal was offside. We know exactlywhere he was going if it was onside
-
Yes another goal would have been brilliant for him.
Also noticed the encouragement he was giving to jack senior after scoring, and at the final whistle. It was the same on Tuesday, one of the first to go to jack after his goal.

I think that Bailey could also be on the shopping list of some clubs.
-
Lukaku had the same or similar song and he asked the Man Utd fans to stop singing it

Watching it in slow motion on the highlights, in not certain it was a foul.
It was a hell of a robust challenge, but his feet never left the ground and he clearly made contact with the ball before he made contact with the player. It's far from certain that his boot made contact with the player, and the worst looking thing about the challenge was how their lad ended up being flipped over Maxwell by the momentum of the impact.

I thought it was a good, strong tackle.
The Clifton and Maxwell bookings were a joke.

I was directly begging him live and it looked like he took a bad touch and lunged in, I couldn’t really see what the feet were doing. The replay certainly wasn’t as bad as it looked from behind.

I agree, it looked a shocker from the stand. I was in a similar position and I thought it might have been a red. But from the replay, a yellow was very harsh.
