Absolutely useless again, f**king threw away all the hard work his team mates did.
Lawler in for the rest of the season
-
I am not sure even Lawlor would think he was the solution.
-
He can take McGrath and Grehan with him. Absolutely shocking all three of them. Wake up Grant, rest of the team amazingly good today looked competitive apart from that lot. Pack em off.
-
TLT is a certified Donkey, as another poster said on the other thread.
Completely gifted the cardiff player the ball.
Even oppo managers know hes useless, hes got no business playing for us.

Lawlor is on the bench because TLT is McCanns choice .. six and 2 sixes
-
Knew this would come after the last goal. TLT should have done better but so should anyone of the 6 players the winger walked past to get that shot away. Also once its carried the fact they are first to ball unchallenged not worth a mention at all???
Conceding 4 goals is not all down to the keeper.
-
Very poor this season, either parries or drops everything, makes a few good saves but costs us far to many points

It’s a team game Tony. They win together and lose together.
-
What the f**k was he doing for their third goal aswell?
-
He really is bloody useless.
Get him gone!
-
Cant believe im writing this as he was my favourite signing of the summer but right from the off, where he conceded a calamity goal to Blackpool, hes been overall shocking.
Has to go back, hes costing us far too many points. Its the most important position on the pitch.
-
What the f**k was he doing for their third goal aswell?
What he f**k was O’Riordan doing to let heir player get a shot away?
-
I was also chuffed when TLT came back but sorry, we definitely need better than him and Lawlor.
-
If he does go back I wonder who will be the team scapegoat then every time we concede a goal.
-
It’s crazy to me how many naive fans still can’t call out this shambolic keeping
-
If he does go back I wonder who will be the team scapegoat then every time we concede a goal.
With a competent goalkeeper we'd be conceding fewer goals and be much higher up the table. There would be less need or desire for 'scapegoating'.
-
You also need a competent Centre Back pairing in front of them. Pearson and Lawlor better dust their boots off for next week
-

Sorry steve, but i have defended tlt all season,
But
98 mins away to the table toppers and the outfield players have bust a vessel all.game to tamely palm that weak effort forward and not aroumd the post or keep hold is criminal.
-
I agree on this now. Again never said a word against on here. But enough is enough. Play lawlor from now on. Yes we need better but he hasn’t let us down when he played. TLT is not a patch on TSL
-
He was poor but so was the defending.
-
He doesn’t breed confidence. That’s maybe why defence is about jittery.
-
We can see that he parries the ball excessively and so can the GK Coach, so why is he still in the team when game after game he does it and often costs us goals?
How many clubs in League 1, League 2 or even the National Leagues would accommodate a GK who was so lacking in such a fundamental attribute as the ability to catch the ball or punch it away decisively. It’s hardly a fault which he makes up for by being strong in other qualitative .
The only excuses his apologists offer is that last defender should not have allowed the scorer to get past or get the shot away.
Well, you could put anyone in goal and use that one.
-

Playing like Blackburn have told him to be careful
-
Tony do you ever post anything positive about our football club and players?

We did go on that winning run with him in goal, perhaps having Wood in front of him leading the defence helped? Or perhaps the attributes of the defenders we had in that season helped? I just don't see how he could go from the a solid keeper (it wasn't all the defence that kept the clean sheets), to dropping us points week after week.
-
Come on, Lawlor is nothing but a cheap happy to sit on the bench - good to have guy.
I can just about blame TLT for the second, but the eventual winner I’m not so sure, we all backed off s a team, and he actually parried to the side for once?
I do think the red was at fault, I was listening to the Cardiff feed, and both they and their manager were screaming for the whistle!! BTW they were very complimentary about us, as good as they have seen this season!
I thought it was a great watch but poor from a technical perspective.
-
Just seen the goals, he should definitely have saved the second but the 4th could've been prevented had 4 other players not let their player through and to be fair he parried it to the side and not back into the middle which judging by the comments X i thought he had.
-
I have considered that some of the criticisms of TLT so far this season have been a little over the top, certainly blamed for goals which have been affected by mistakes by others.
I consider he his a good keeper and have consistently made these comments, however today I have witnessed the worst performance by him in a rovers shirt. He made lots of errors, however the last goal was a very serious error, yes you can wonder why we game there players room leading up to the shot, but it was a very poor attempt to save.
He could easily have caught hold of the ball, but yet again he made the decision to parry the ball straight to their player.
Now if the management team doesn’t consider all the criticism for today, then they need to explain why is TLT, parring the majority of his saves?
The team worked very hard today, yes they made errors along the way, but I am guessing they will not be happy with Timmy’s performance today.
-
Just seen that 4th goal again. The keeping is even worse than on first viewing.
Yes there is some poor defending leading up to the goal but he's got to do much better than that.
It's a not particularly fierce shot from outside the box and he has plenty of time to see it coming.
He should be looking to do 1 of 2 things either: -
1) Grab hold of the ball - looks very achievable given the nature of the shot; or
2) If he's doubting he can keep hold of it he should be aiming to to tip the ball around the post and out of danger.
He does not make any attempt to do either of those things.
All he's looking to do is make the save.
He then palms the ball straight to their player who has an easy task of scoring the goal.
Absolutely atrocious goalkeeping for a professionally paid keeper. Amateurish.
How anyone can attempt to defend it is baffling.
-
That 4th goal, the shot wasn’t that powerful, he wasn’t stretching for it, his chest was behind the ball, it’s a regulation save and hold onto for a keeper. I hope he got some right bollockings from his teammates in the dressing room
-
If Lawlor or Louis Jones had performed like that today, they'd have been f*cking slaughtered on here by some of the people that are constantly defending TLT.
-
Top top keepers make mistakes too in games, whats the problem.
Shall we just sign everyone one in the world and get rid of them if they make a mistake.
He has made a mistake, he will be hurting tonight, yet it was not just him.
Support him.
Getting on at them all doesnt help.
Mccann will get rid of the ones he is not happy with, the problem is, if he got rid of the ones you all moan of, we wouldnt have a team left every year.
I find it quite childish to be honest.
Good performance, I can see us doing well after a few changes in Jan.
Come on Rovers! Keep going TLT, another one for Hanlan, you all moaned about. Well done Hanlan
-
Well TLT was great for us 2 seasons ago , so what has happened?
Is the goalkeeping coach wrong for him coz i know i was 1 along with the majority wanting TLT back for this season , and i think you may find many was wanting him signed on permanent.
So Grant .... look first at the coaching, is that up to scratch?
Anyone else coming in and also Lawlor will be contending with the same coaching methods.

"He has made a mistake". Just one? Have you been in a coma for the last few weeks? Also, you mention a few changes in January. Well if it's not the ones we all "moaned about", who exactly is it?
-
I don’t know what people want here. “Get him sent back” right ok, so then we have Lawler who hasn’t been good enough for 6 seasons, but all of a sudden is the answer.
The defending for all 4 of their goals was shocking, all 4 shots should have been stopped before they reached the goalkeeper. If we defend like that we will concede goals.
-

I made the same observation about the goals in midweek. He doesn’t seem physically able to go to “full stretch” as was apparent then when I ran the Stockport goals in slow motion.
And outfield players can always be implicated for conceding goals, but why do people introduce their errors in an attempt to absolve the goalkeeper. If he fails to do his job properly and the ball goes in the net it is his fault. Obviously others can be implicated, but the subject of discussion here is a Goalkeeper who fails repeatedly to function as an effective last line of defence.

Molly got it, broadbent got it bad 18 months ago, crazy examples its just boring to listen to people go off their head at everything and everybody, have some perspective and a little knowledge at least.
We know TLT is a good keeper, even the best have a few bad games, why do you think TLT is any different.
Maybe Lawlor is in for the next game who knows. Its just silly to constantly go for a complete slag off of everything.

Please don't speak on my behalf.
I don't think he's a good keeper.
I think he's a very poor keeper based on the evidence of watching his performances this season.
If it wasn't for his mistakes Rovers would have conceded far fewer goals this season, would have won more points and wouldn't be sat just out of the relegation places on goal difference as they are now.
I therefore believe that if he continues to be selected for the majority of the rest of the season the club have a very good chance of getting relegated.
Yet you think it's silly or childish to air this evidence-based concern on a Doncaster Rovers forum. Really?

Its not a case of airing views though is it. It seems like if some one has an off few games thats it they are rubbish.
Thats why its called form, players go in and out if form, it doesnt make him bad.
Its just sensible to assume he is not a bad keeper, based on all our full knowledge of him, previous and now.
Onwards and upwards, stay positive.
I wonder if Hanlan may get double this year, that would be really positive wouldnt it. Lets see hey and lets see if TLT comes back into a bit of form / confidence as we have seen him previously.
I trust Mccann, not those in the stands playing at being manager.

No is the answer

Of course it's a case of airing my view.
I'm not basing my opinion on a "few off games" like I said it's based on the evidence of watching his performances ALL this season.
I don't agree at all that "its just sensible to assume he is not a bad keeper" based on that evidence.
And for the record I trust McCann too and remain positive for the rest of season IF he makes good signings in January to improve the team as he has done in his last two seasons managing the club.
Based on what I've observed this season one of those good January signings needs to be a better goalkeeper.
But that doesn't mean I think McCann's infallible and is getting every team selection decision right. Raising opinions and concerns on team selection would seem to be to be a pretty reasonable thing to discuss on a football forum.
I simply therefore reject your "childish" and "silly" accusation.

Understood and fair enough, all have our own views. Enjoy your night and hopefully the rest of the season.

The difference in TLT part 1 to TLT part 2 is astounding but in his defence the centre back pairings we churn out are weak as piss, teams have worked us out, from TLTs parries to putting balls into the box knowing our CBs are not strong enough to mark & challenge correctly, rinse & repeat week in , week out it's becoming monotonous.

We were a relegation form team in league 2 for half the season he was here last time, so we can’t blame the quality of player we have now for his drop in levels
-
Just watched the goals back now. It’s not great is it. For the third one he appears to dive over the ball and for the forth, why doesn’t he parry it well away from goal? Sorry to say, but it’s been a disaster of a signing. He was great for 6 months a year and a half ago in a team that was winning every week but he’s been found out badly at this level. At this minute in time I’m struggling to think of a part of his game that is actually good. On top of this his distribution is not even national league standard.

The guy is a jelly handed fraud. Needs to start having a tug morning and night one with each hand to strengthen his wrists.
