That looks like a back threeBailey Pearson and McGrath to me

Or a back 4 Sterry, McGrath, Pearson, Maxwell.?

Then again it could be a back 3 if we have Maxwell as LWB to provide an attacking option on the left?

TLT a waste of a loan spot if we’re going to play Lawlor.

It's more than time that Lawlor got the shirt.

TLT a waste of a loan spot if we’re going to play Lawlor.

Couldn’t disagree more.

We need 2 keepers immediately available for the first team, whether or not one is a loanee.  We’re losing too many games so changing the keeper is t an issue is it.?

For me, close is in there as cover for Bailey’s midfield position

I’d be happy with Bailey playing no10..

Come out all guns blazing and get an early goal again would be nice but I’ve a feeling we’ll adopt a more cautious approach early game for this one. Let’s really hope we can be much more solid at the back than of late. Come on Rovers !!!

you are honoured (perhaps not) with having me here

as the team supposed to be going in the opposite direction to Blackpool (manager had a disasterous record in my world   and always blamed everyone but himself at Bolton)  almost takes the lead

he wasted so much money at Bolton - he also had shares in the club |!!!

Title: Re: Blackpool V TLOD

We look very lob sided. No width on the left so Hanlan keeps drifting out there leaving no one up front.

1-0 down

That's a shocking goal to concede, especially when you're playing a back 5

Awful goal to concede. Maxwell misjudged an interception, McGrath thinks he's playing in midfield and is nowhere, man unmarked in the middle. What do we work on all week?

As far as I know the sky coommentator isn’t actually there, he’s watching it on a monitor like a lot of us which would explain the lack of in depth commentary.

Both full backs have been poor. But we are not going to win the game with this set up. May aswell have an extra attacker on. The centre halves have been fine but we've no attacking threat.
Title: Re: Blackpool V TLOD
Post by: Prez on December 26, 2025, 03:51:46 pm
Its just awful. Out muscled, no cohesion, what little possession we get, we just end up passing back, only for it to get hoofed aimlessly, upfield.

We are really poor, no shots on target either.

Blackpool seems to tail off as the half went on which is some encouragement. Sterry and Moly didn’t seem to be able to get their double act going at all. Dare I say we are missing a threat up the left side … Gibson??

Blackpool first half stronger bigger technically better.  Maxwell fault for goal where was McGrath. Defensively they are better. Midfield they are better upfront they are better. Our players are league 2 standard. Bailey should have scored with the only chance we've had.

If that was in reference to me I just meant let him go when his contract was up, so we could have got someone much better to start over Maxwell.
I like Senior but he’s not the answer for this level either.

Started game by saying with Charlie Crew unavailable, Pearson was filling in at the back. And that Molyneux has been struggling for form recently.

Was foul plus yellow, and the Blackpool player now has a yellow which should have been his second (or he wouldn't have fouled Hanlan in a promising situation)

Looks unlikely we will get much here but there is something to take away from this in terms of the second half fight at least. The set up in the first half was a horror show though. Was Grant on the sherry last night?

Better second half, first half hopeless, aimless football. On the positive side Hanlon is becoming a real handful for defences. Without naming names as it does no good, but there were 2 or 3 out there today who should be nowhere near the first 11 on Monday.

I remember walking back to the car at Huddersfield and listening to some of their fans saying that we would be in the mix at the top come the end of the season.
