That's the aim from here on in. Maybe 47/48 will be enough? Have we got another 26 points in us from 24 games. I think we have, although it looks grim with the run we are on.

Survival was always the aim IMO

Lot of fantasists expecting promotion. Obviously the club was going to be pushing this but look at the budgets in this league. It has changed massively even since we were last here. Staying in this league and becoming competitive in this league is what we should be about. Far too much cash chasing the Championship, in League One now.
-
Does it mean we are going to be a yo-yo team?
-
So that's the future of the club now? Aiming just to survive at the bottom end of the 3rd division?
Get ready for a massive slump in ST sales and attendances if that's the case.
-
No that’s not the future
But after promotion surely a year of consolidation isn’t the disaster being made out.
If we finish around 14th it’ll be decent

Not the future no, but avoiding relegation is the start to establishing back at L1. If we are wanting to aim higher or push for promotion then TB needs to get cheque book out or look for an investor/buyer. As neither seem to happening we should be aiming for 20th.
-
Lincoln a similar club size and have been realistic, trying to build slowly and sustainably, recruiting smartly. 17th, 11th, 7th, 11th and now 2nd after getting promoted from L2.
We just came up thinking good vibes and McCann being optimistic would automatically get us up at the top end. Naive.

I voted in this Thread before a ball was kicked and put 17 to 20. We had a great start and I thought , wow , my prediction looks poor , but at the moment I am sad to say I'm in the right area
Have a read of these , but of course it's a marathon not a sprint
If you don't read it there were I think 46 votes cast and Rovers were predicted by the average to finish 10th and I for one would take that now

Survival is the aim. The problem is we aren't even going to do that.

When Darren Ferguson was here we only needed 1 point from 17 games and still didn’t get it ..

Reality check!! There are some big teams in the third tier with big followings and big budgets. We are not one of them! So yes for now mid table in the third tier is where we should be/ aiming to be. Build from there with smart, frugal recruitment while selling the odd asset. Thats who we are until someone comes along with passion and the cash to back it up.

Only 1 voted we could be relegated ONE !

Smart, frugal recruitment? Who’s going to sort that, then?

Smart, frugal recruitment? Who’s going to sort that, then?
Not Lee Glover, that's for sure.

So those who chose the first list then !!

Exactly, we have league 2/bottom of league 1 attendances, so why do people expect us to be a big league 1/championship team?
We got to the championship once, and imo it took a combination of once in a generation circumstances coming together to make it happen. It isn’t where we rightfully belong by a long stretch.
-
We got to the Championship twice, promoted in 2007/8 and 2012/13.

Dont know but without a billionaire owner thats what is needed for a club of our size Alan.

You are of course correct and my wording was wrong, my point was the first time around we became an “established” championship team instead of coming straight back down.

So far this season, we have the 12th highest average attendance in this division.

Monetary wise we're probably 19th-20th given the rest of the league charge 20-30% more on STs and matchday prices.
Lucky for us we have an away end that holds 3000 too. Some of those clubs average attendees are capacity crowds

LLLDLLDLLDWLLL
14 games, 42 points available, 6 achieved.
Performances in that time have been mostly dire.
Whatever the budget, that’s no where near good enough.
We have no identity, no fight, we look a beaten side.
We’re going to roll the dice in the loan market again, but Grant is going to have to be very very lucky to find someone who can drag us out of this mess.

Isn't that a small village in Wales?

Can you tell me how relevant this is?! a) Ferguson is not the manager b) tell me how many of the players are in the current squad c) I would guess only 50% or so of that division is in the current one. If you are going to bve pessimistic then at least talk about the present,
-
Our results show that we’re being further cut a drift until we turn it around , but no matter what any one thinks or says is going to make a difference. Level headed minds like McCann etc are busy working on solving our recruitment problem and this conversation is going on at every club and we are looking at most of the same players as well no doubt. It’s down to agents and money again .

Wow! Rovers are cut adrift? Currently 6 points off 9th place, that is seriously out of the hunt isn't it?!!!!!!

True. But if by “the hunt” you mean competing for a play off place, we currently need to overtake 17 teams to achieve that.
Despite 12 points not seeming like all that much, with that amount of traffic, there are always going to be too many teams between 6th-23rd that benefit from other teams between those positions losing. They can’t all play the top 5 or teams below us every week.

It has happened before.
