any previous season where we have sent back a whole cohort of loan players before their term with us was up.
And I can't recall one similar example.
What on earth is going on for us to have done that?
-
We’d all like to know the answer to that, BST.
Collectively, management upwards, we’ve not been good enough. A failure to fill the holes that needed filling with better quality has been a major factor. The loans, that were supposed to be the icing on the cake, have been shocking, COR excepted. Street lit the place up last season and we replaced him with 2 lads who wouldn’t have got on last season’s bench!
If we go back a good few seasons, we needed a striker, a commanding midfielder and a keeper. We still havn’t secured a single one!
What are we striving for, exactly?
-
It also makes you wonder how willing future decent loan players will be to join Rovers too...

Blackpool have Imray on loan, he had Maxwell on toast today. We get Ajayi and Olusanya.
-
Maxwell was bobbins again. Got to ask when “he has good potential “ stops, and the realisation that he has actually peaked kicks in. He is very experienced in the senior game.
-
Have they all gone back early then?
-
Crew and Ajayi have gone back. O’Riordan and Lasagne are now unlikely to play again so doubt they are still at the club. TLT on bench.
-
Most bizarre signing of the lot was Olusanya.
Ajayi could have gone either way. Clearly has something just not yet for us. Better than that lad Yeboah that didn't work out last season.

Ive always said its a gamble getting in youngsters on loan.
Sometimes it can work fantastically, and sometimes it is a disaster, and this season it could relegate us.
You cant build a squad around it like we seem to try and do

Olusanya has had two good months across his entire senior career. A completely illogical signing.
-
It looks like ORiordon and Crew have had there loans curtailed by their clubs. Ajayi and Olusanya have not worked out. Could it be also down to money. If Grants wants Robinson then Crew had to go back. Didn't want to see ORiordon go back.
-
Whoever brought them in needs to justify themselves to the man paying the bills. And if it’s Grant sorry he can’t be moaning about players.
Get 5 better ones in Jan and our season is very salvageable

Bring Flint in ASAP and Faulkner as soon as fit. One thing that could help us is the big snow fall forecast in the first week of January.
All they need is a bit of the trust shown to no marks we have shown to others from other clubs who are nowhere as good potentially as those two are.

i wouldnt want either of them starting for us right now.

Well not one of them has been mentioned for a week and it's been announced that we aren't retaining them.
Either they've all got injured simultaneously and we just haven't mentioned them
Or they've all gone back early.
Or none of them are thought good enough to improve a side in historically bad form before they go back next week. In which case, to all intents and purposes they've gone back early.
-
McCann said last weekend that Ajayi and Crew have gone back. They are not here any longer. Gone.
-
Leeds aren't going to want him on the bench every week. I think we'd have kept given the choice

Selby, I admire you has a fellow supporter and especially the support you give to our young players, and I am sure many in our club are appreciative of your efforts and support.
However Flint and Faulkner are not yet up to L1 standard and thus are not a viable option at this present time.
Many supporters are now getting very uptight with our current predicament, I can’t imagine what abuse would be given to these two if we brought them in as you suggest. Both need to prove first that they are at a good L2 standard before we introduce them to L1

Like it’s been said before it’s ok doing reasonably well in non league or even League Two, but as we seen this season it’s a big step up

Ah OK, I missed that one then. I knew they weren't being retained but presumed they'd all be here until 31st December

I think we need loans either some experience to improve us. If the choice is Faulkner or a U21 from a prem club then play Bobby all day long imo.
