Two winters ago we signed Habeeb Adelakun 22/01/2024 and last winter we signed Rob Street 03/01/2025.
I wonder who our Wonderboy(s) will be when we look back in May this year.
Hope McCann does us proud again and the sooner the better.

The DFP says "Manager Grant McCann has confirmed two permanent additions are heading into the club imminently. One is set to be loaned back out ....".
Am I reading it wrong or are we likely to get Connor O'Riordan coming back? If so, good news.

I think it means we are signing a young lads who is getting loaned straight back out.
Sounds like its Bayley McCann.

McCann has been on loan at Alfreton Town, in the lower reaches of Conference North. The loan is due to be up this month anyway.
Joe Dodoo is still there I think.
-
I think he said the young prospect would go straight back on loan, and is one for the future - rumoured to be his son, Bailey.
The other would go straight in the team for Sunday, I can only imagine this to be the lad we’ve had training with us for a month from Derby, but I’m guessing like everyone else.

Barnsley forum said bailey was in full rovers tracksuit at the last game.
As an aside.
Boxing day I went to Worksop Vs Alfreton.
Mccan was playing for Alfreton, Martin Woods for workshop, until he got injured.
Didn't really stand out as a player but was quite tenacious, but the weather was awfully cold, plastic pitch, and not great standard could have contributed.

Don’t like the idea of signing a managers son just doesn’t help us move past the criticism of our recruitment. Maybe his numbers stack up and it won’t be a big wage but it doesn’t scream serious club to me.
If Bailey is a good player and proves it then the above will look stupid. Hope it does one day.

Bayley McCann was 20 years old last month, he has played for Northern Ireland U21’s
-
Saw him play against us at their place in the virtue cup last season. He looked decent that day.

I agree. It doesn't sound good to sign the manager's own son on a contract only to loan him straight out. He is hardly a notable signing to get us out of our current problems.
A shame that burst my bubble at having Connor back if Blackburn found they didn't need him after all.

You would think of all the rumours McCann jnr, Haks and the derby midfielder seem quite likely.
Strange there have been no striker rumours.

I can't see Darren Robinson going straight into the team, mate. He's hardly had any league experience with any club.

Both Adelakun and Street came I wanting to get involved and left having made a huge contribution , but imo both knowing that they were moving one after their short stint . We need permanent signings that a team can be build around and create the momentum needed if progress is going to be made . We can’t keep revisiting January to solve squad selections that were obviously deficient from the start . Scoring goals is what football is all about and we’re not very good at it ..
