Not being at the Bolton game, I've only just seen from the the list of the departed Rovers family in the programme, that Mick's name was included.
Mick was a friend of mine for over 50 years, an excellent footballer, and posted on here as ravenrover.
He was living in Nottingham, and had been receiving treatment for melanoma. He sent me a PM a few months ago saying that the cancer had spread to his brain.
If it is him, I will be devastated. Could anyone from the club confirm this, so I can let some of his old friends over here in Donny know.

Last posted 2nd November, last time active on here 18th November, before that a pretty prolific poster

I knew he had some health issues from his posting but didn't think it was so serious. A measured and genuine presence on here who will be missed, if it is ravenrover. RIP Mick.

That’s so sad, he was one of my dad’s best pals, they played football together.
He also stuck up for me quite a bit on here after my dad had passed away.
I wasn’t aware of this, it’s sad news, my mum will be sad too

As an addendum, Mick was an absolute Bob Dylan fanatic and historian. He had every recording Bob ever made, and saw him live on several occasions. He often referred to him on here as "His Bobness".
Mick also went to Glastonbury several times. I will miss his presence on here tremendously.
Till we meet again, old friend.

Sad news. A poster I remember well.

Good guy. RIP Raven

I used to swap .posts with him , then met him at Stoke I think it was where he donated a Shirt for the Super6 Comp I used to run
Then a couple of years back I saw him in Marr Lodge where he was with lots of workmates
I was with my Twin Cousins and they are from Grimethorpe but knew Mick by name. Think.he must have been NCB I suppose

I've found out that Mick passed away on Nov 20th. That was just 2 days after his last presence on here, on Nov 18th.
God bless him, he tried to be with us all on here right to the end.

I last traded pms with Mick in September. We had many similar memories of Rovers and fans in the 60s. I think that I was 2 or 3 years older than him, I’m 77 now. I think that we shared similar views on certain posters on here as well which made me chuckle.
