Title: James Husband
Post by: roversdude on January 31, 2026, 05:27:29 pm
Decent player but does he deserve to adorn the outside of our stadium - first time I’ve noticed that on the outside of the NW corner

He should be on the wall of shame for that 'tackle' on Mahrez that sent us down.

And then put back on for that crunching tackle on Cairney was it from Hull.

All our defenders should be able to tackle like that!

I can think of a dozen or more players whose image deserves displayed on the stadium before Husband gets a look in.

Off the top of my head,

Alan Warboys

Mike Elwiss

Glynn Snodin

Brian Stock

Billy Sharp (Copps image was up there whilst he was playing)

Chris Brown

Paul Heffernan

Michael McIndoe

J J Price

Tim Ryan

Dave Penny

Mark Rankine

Tristram Whitman

It's not dozens, it's hundreds of players that should be up there before him. He only played two proper seasons, and I thought he was often a liability giving away fouls and getting cards. Maybe there due to his localish links and coming up through the ranks? Very random though.

Not Michael McIndoe , he would put a bill in and try and charge us for image rights

Born in Leeds and went through the Leeds academy. Always puzzled me when people used to sing he was "one of our own".

I think it's more due to the Academy link, as they are just along from the academy entrance. Husband and Green are the 2 players displayed there.

Makes a little more sense but a poster !!! Surely we have better examples.
Does highlight that our academy has not over achieved in the past, thankfully we seem to have some prospects coming through

Both came to us at 16yo didn’t they (Husband & Green)? We’d be better putting up banners of the 3 lads we sold to Man Utd and Leeds instead. Jariyah Shah at Man U has been getting rave reviews for them recently.

Re Ushers' list

I'd forgotten the midfielder Add Yourown on your list. He was good.

Didnt James husband donate a chunk of his wages to the club?

I thought that was George Friend Sproty, but might have been Husband as well?

…and George Friend was real class as well as way better than Husband ever was or will be. Gareth Roberts, James Chambers, Harold Wilcockson not to mention Len Graham in that position all come to mind too.

I love a good tackle but from my perspective that was a cowardly tackle on a fellow pro, the follow through was totally disproportionate, had no intention apart from crocking Cairney which he succeeded in, a sending off all day long, totally reckless.

Yes definitely George who donated the money.
He wasn’t liked by all, but was a very good player, and has we say about a good number of our players past & present was a very nice guy always having time for all supporters.

He was for us agreed. But then went to the Prem with Boro as their starting left back so seemed to improve.

On the subject, James Chambers was a proper player for us. Underrated.
