Strong 11 feel it's finally gonna stick tonight I'm going an optimistic 4-1. Flashscore showing frank as starting and Lee out with a knee injury surely they have that the wrong way round?!
-
Tonight’s team
COYR
-
Port Vale or AFC to win tonight...?
-
I'll go a point each way
-
Vale will beat Wimbledon tonight
-
The line up encourages on the deck football let's hope we can link up play a little bit better and a little faster than Saturday.
Full concentration required at all times. We can do this.
COYR.
-
Still optimistic this is the start of a rise/ 1-3.
-
TLT in for Clark it seems.
-
Clark injured in the warm-up apparently.
-
TLT in for Clark it seems.
If that’s true … it doesn’t rain but pours
-
TLT to have a blinder....
-
Not ideal but these things are sent to test us but we can't let it stop us being positive.
These games, these conditions demand full committment and doing the basics well.
-
penalty
-
Not convinced starting Lee up front on his own in these conditions after playing barely any football this season is the best choice, but fingers crossed he proves me wrong very quickly.
-
0:1
-
1-0 - Mols. Great start!
-
Crumbs what a start
-
Does anyone know if we’ve ever had a quicker pen?
COYR
-
35 seconds in and Lee shown his class already in build up to the penalty
-
Fair play to the ref for giving that seconds after kick off. I mean its a stone waller but I could see many refs bottling that with less than a minute gone.

They often do bottle it, giving a first minute pen.
Great start.
-
Conditions look a bit grim, very wet. Can see both defences making mistakes
-
Timmys got a mistake in him :(
-
0:2
-
Get in!!
-
Owen Bailey! Thank f**k the window is shut!
-
What more can you say about Bailey??!!
-
Up to 17th at the moment. COYR!!!!!!!!!
-
Get in there
-
Although we’ve got a history of dropping points.
Put these to the sword good and proper!
-
Don't think we can call him the Geordie Rodri anymore, more like MichaelOwen Bailey
-
We’re definitely playing on the counter here!
-
Don't think we can call him the Geordie Rodri anymore, more like MichaelOwen Bailey
He’s more like Bryan Robson
-
How lucky are we as a club that we have Owen & Luke at the club
-
Don't think we can call him the Geordie Rodri anymore, more like MichaelOwen Bailey
He’s more like Bryan Robson
I reckon that is a great call
-
Jay looks like a different player with Byrne alongside him. Don't think he's missed a single header and has bullied his man in every challenge so far
-
We're not looking good, especially our distribution, but they seem very ineffective.

Two flukes then.
-

It’s ugly but necessary, keep them out and hit them on the counter
-
Almost 70% possession to Burton. Apart from our 2 goals and hitting the bar, we’ve not done much!!
-
That last move by the Rovers was class
-
70 to Burton and 31 to us according to Sky?
-

Chances taken yes, but beyond that...? Rope a dope?
-
Senior a tad lucky he only got a yellow there, seen reds given for less

We often have less possession than our opponents when we play away though.
-
Haks needs to hold onto the ball better for me
-
Strange half. No control in midfield whatsoever. Under pressure most of the half. But our front 3/4 look threatening with the scraps they’ve had
-
Doesn’t matter how we win. Yes, this game isn’t over yet by any means, but winning ugly when you start in the bottom 4 is very welcome..
Les see what the second half brings.
-
Feels like a smash and grab right now, which i will take no doubt about it.
Conditions are awful
-
It’s not the conditions to play tippy tippy football though!
-
Agree with some a strange game where it just seems defence vs attack either way.
We could’ve and maybe should have done better in that half with the other chances/half chances.
Senior doesn’t look match fit to me, not at his usual levels at least, been done as much as Maxwell was on Saturday.
They have had more corners than a team gets in two games, we’ve been under the cosh for long parts of that, but seen it through.
I can’t see them not scoring if it carries on, so we will need more.
-
Burton's last 3 results
lincoln lost 2-1 away unlucky
Bolton lost 2-1 93rd minute minute goal
Cardiff home 2-2
and don't forget somehow they beat Huddersfield 3-1
Port vale is still 0-0 83rd minute
-
We need to be a bit calmer on the ball, just like on Saturday really. But agree with others above - don’t really care tonight, leaving with the points is ALL that matter's.
-
Haks needs to hold onto the ball better for me
His biggest fault, doesn’t ‘take care’ of the ball & gives away possession cheaply with poor passes.
Granted he offers ‘something different’ going forward but….
-
I think we look really comfortable and the attack is linking up brilliantly, they look like they still have a few levels to go up too.
Conditions are w**k so we’ve just gotta be a bit careful sliding in with Gotts and in particular Senior being on yellows. Nothing too daft just go see the game out in 2nd half.
-
I’m just worried when we have to take off both Lee and Haks
-
AFC just scored against PV
-
wimbledon scored 1-0 i looked away and they scored Burton making 3 changes
89th minute
-
Swap Gotts and Senior out. Can’t afford a second yellow which would be easy in these conditions
-
Burton hit post
-
What are we doing wrong? Looking at comments seems this way.is it our midfield or what.
-
Complete set of whingers this lot. Claiming for everything even when there is nithing there
-
Burton are good side, they have given top of league sides really good games, they are no push overs.
-
What are Byrne and Lee playing like?
-
60 minutes for Lee as he makes way for Billy
-
Where’s the midfield?
-
Re Lee, I think he looks like he’ll be a fantastic asset for us. Great control with the few balls he received
-
1-2. Can we hang on?
-
Not been able to get on here since 60 minutes due to Cookie Monster turning up.
Back to 2-1 now.
-
Come on Rovers!
-
2-1 with 7 mins plus added time to go.
-
Lee had a great 60 mins but we’ve sat back and let them back in. Clifton has been immense tonight
-
We’re going to throw this one away
-
Hang on lads
-
Not pretty but a welcome 3 points
-
Get in, full time 1-2 a good win away from home
17th in the league 2 points from the drop zone
Onwards and upwards
COYR
-
20 corners to burton, sounds like we rode our luck
Up to 17th
-
That’s a huge win.

Or we defended well?
-
Brilliant. Onwards.
-
My god we made hard work of that
-
We’re going to throw this one away
Nope.
-
Dug in and rode our luck. Was always going to end like that in those conditions - but we came through it. Let's hope Lee can be the catalyst to our customary second half of the season form.
-
We’re going to throw this one away
Thankfully you were wrong.!
Very welcome 3 points.!
-
BBC site said ref added six minutes but it somehow extended that to nine minutes.
Surely there can’t have been three minutes of time wasting.
-
Their “live” timings are always +2 minutes for some reason..
-
Don't care how we won - we won away and against a team around us... I hope the boys enjoy it and rest over for another big effort on Saturday...
-

Or we defended well?
A bit of both, they hit the post, had a goal disallowed, lots of wild strikes. Wet slippery pitch, players from both sides going over. Rain and then snow.
-

I know they are always behind but I was referring to the “live text” which announced six minutes but the amount played was nine.
I couldn’t get on here again due to the CM.
-
It was just over 7 mins extra time, I watched the game, terrible conditions, Burton weren't interested in getting it down and playing football, they by-passed our midfield every goal kick and just lumped it up to their forwards, and I lost count the number of flick ons they won. Jay did really well in defence and cleared the box with lots of headers.Second half we resorted to pretty much the same tactic as the snow started to get heavier, so I suppose good football was probably too much to expect in those conditions. Neither midfield were in play much, goalies just lumped it up over the midfield in the hope of getting a favourable flick on. They did put us under a lot of pressure in the second half, but not by playing good football, but by going direct whenever they could. Well defended lads and a great 3 points. PS. Lee looked alert and tricky with the ball, some nice tricks and turns to get himself out of trouble. I like the look of him very much.
-
Watched it from the warmth of my settee. When Gotts dropped shoulder on the turn first half the Burton player almost joined me . He's really becoming some player

I don’t mean the time they take to add a post, more their actual game timing. It’s always 2 mins ahead.
