I successfully introduced my eldest son to Rovers however I failed with my youngest due to the behaviour of a steward at Belle Vue. My youngest who was sixteen and about to enter the ground via the boys entrance when the steward asked him his age, my son replied sixteen. The steward then replied “ you’re in the wrong queue out and in there”. My son who was still at school felt humiliated. I explained  to the steward it’s  year 2000 the leaving age is now sixteen as it’s been for twenty odd years. No success. My son hasn’t returned and is now an Iron fan. A loss to the club following the ignorance of a steward..

Some years ago I exchanged comments with a lad that I had played football and worked  with in the 70s. We arranged to meet at a Rovers game as I had a season ticket. He had got disillusioned with Rovers some years earlier and stopped attending. He really enjoyed the day. A good natter, a couple of pints and a team playing decent football. He got a season  ticket the next season and has renewed the last few years. We really enjoy our footy and if we lived nearer than 40odd miles away we’d probably meet up for a pint on non match days.

I introduced my mum, nephew, younger brother  and best mate. My mum had a season ticket for 15 years until, unfortunately, she died in 2021. However the rest of us are long standing ST holders and still sit together every home game and as many away games as we can make.  :rtid:

Tried both my sons, youngest not into football though, eldest comes once in a while, doesn't go anywhere else but likes Arsenal for some reason.
My nephew & grandson are st holders, the grandson particularly loves it (nephew doesn't really do emotion but he started coming in the Schofield era, make of that what you will).
Then there's our lass, Preston born but only team for her is Rovers, comes to a couple of away days a season.

I’ve introduced both my sons, although my oldest doesn’t really follow football and only comes from time to time if he thinks he’s missing out on something. The youngest attends all the home games and a few away each season. Bless him he gets some stick at school because all his mates follow premier league clubs. But as I explained to him it’s totally different to support your local club week in and week out,  there’s nothing like it and I think he gets it. Oh and the Mrs comes too.
