I’ve just binge watched the new Mackenzie Crook comedy drama on iPlayer, hence the late post. I’ve come to expect good things from MacKenzie and once again he doesn’t disappoint. It’s not rapid fire jokes but there are nice humorous moments throughout and the drama keeps you hooked.
If you thought the BBC couldn’t deliver quality entertainment anymore, then try watching this.

I did exactly the same last night.
It really is a wonderful programme with quality characters, in every scene.
-
We're rationing it to 2 episodes a day. Found it on recommendation from a friend.
How come I'm inundated with ads for shit shows by the BBC, yet this just seemed to dribble out on the iplayer?
(The friend who told me about it owed me as I pointed out Early Doors and Detectorists to him).

Early Doors is so good. Still watch it now and again.
Detectorists a close second.
Watching Small Prophets as it’s broadcast. First episode was really good.
-
The detectorists was perfection, especially the first series
-
Only watched one episode so far. It's quirky but can't say it's grabbed me just yet.
-
I watched the first episode and I thought it was ok, it looks a programme/series that will get better when the characters develop, but any programme with Michael Palin is a plus comedy or serious
-
Watched the first episode, shows promise as characters develop.
-
As I got to understand the characters more over the episodes, so the more I enjoyed it. In my opinion it was a very well written and well acted series that is the BBC at its best.
As a side note, I did read that it is apparently based on a true story! The mind boggles....!
-
Enjoying this series, not quite as good as the detectorists but still the same cosy vibe.
-
Just like with The Detectorists, the music chills you out to a different level. It's certainly becoming a Mackenzie Crook trait.
He's a fabulous talent.
-
I wasn’t aware of this series but you guys have got me fired up to watch it.
Ditto with The Detectorists.
Thanks guys!

The theme tune was specially commissioned for the show by one of Mackenzies favourite artists an American who goes by the name of Cinder Well. It's the kind of folk/ indie rock he likes.
