Title: Sky Sports
Post by: scawsby steve on February 18, 2026, 06:05:27 pm
You utter f*cking w*nkers. A fierce South Yorkshire derby game with a 12.30pm KO, and no Sky coverage. Why?

For different reasons, I couldn't get tickets for the game. Now I'll not see the match at all.

A completely ruined weekend with nothing to look forward to. Just when I was getting excited again about the Rovers.

It was moved around police advice, not for TV purposes. Not sure what the issue is.

Original 3pm KO not Sky’s fault

It should be obvious what the issue is for me. Read the last sentence again.

It was never meant to be televised. Can’t be good for you to get yourself so worked up at a phantom argument.

I assume the police are exercising their traditional concerns about heightened emotions fuelled by the availability of an extra two and a half hours of alcohol consumption, but they would have been able to anticipate this when the fixtures were being drawn up. The TV agreement between Sky and the EFL ought to have catered for this kind of situation.

Now come on, that’s far too sensible and considers the fans, it will never happen!  :headbang:

I would be concerned for your health and wellbeing if you get this worked up over something so small. How did you cope when hardly any game was on Sky just a few seasons ago…

Out of interest, Sheffield derby game on Sunday. Odd the fixture computer threw them both up the same weekend.

Yes, Fal, I overreacted a bit. The trouble is, we get too used to things that we weren't bothered about not having at one time.

Look at the reaction on here from most of us when the cookie monster was striking all the time.

I'm even now considering getting a dodgy firestick; something I said I'd never do.

I was worried on opening up they'd moved the Barnsley game to 12.30 then

Still not on par with widespread meltdown on the signing of Byrne. That thread should be framed for future reference. Extraordinary stuff.

Cheers, Ry. Actually, a mate of mine down the street has got one, so I'll be watching it there.

It's still not listed on the Sky Sports app, so I don't think it will be on there.

Big thanks to the mate of mine who let me watch the game at his. I'm not sure about getting a dodgy stick myself though. It buffered a lot during the game.

It all depends on your internet speed and who is the provider of the service he has

You’d think common sense would be for the various police forces and Sky Sports to sit down and make it a win win. Sky need to show each team 20 times. They need to fill their 12.30 slot across all 3 EFL divisions. The police forces want less drinking time in the high risk fixtures. This seems like a slam dunk to please everyone!

Far, far too much common sense doing that, and it would benefit fans so it’ll never happen!!

If it was slow, disjointed and stuttering in the first half that wasn't buffering, that was the game.

Nice one, Vaya. The irony is that the buffering was worse in the 2nd half. It buffered just as Luke took the ball from the keeper. The next thing we saw was the players celebrating.
