We often start well at Rotherham but the thing that's cost us in the past is keeping our discipline and composure to the end.

Really hope we can make a fast start and capitalise by getting a two goal cushion going into the last quarter. Get the home crowd on the players and managers back.

Both the players and the management so far,  don't seem to have a clue how to get back into this match and seem content to rely on luck to keep the score down to one.

We’ve been battered in this half, it’s embarrassing how simple the football they are playing is and we can’t deal with.
They need an absolute bollocking at half time, nowhere near at the levels required.

Another Wycombe performance, we are just lucky Rotherham are not good enough to make the most of it. Change is needed , whether it is personnel or tactics. It is poor.
Title: Re: Rovrum V TLOD

bloody rubbish, Rovers - absolute embarrassment so far - the only redeeming feature is that Rotherham are sufficiently piss poor to only be one goal up...

Awful performance. Rotherham far more up for it. Not good enough.

exactly - all the obvious limitations apart, you'd like to think that we'd at least match them for effort and commitment given the importance of the match - to simply not turn up is unforgiveable

Title: Re: Rovrum V TLOD
Post by: Barmby Rover on February 21, 2026, 01:26:57 pm
I did email my mate asking if it was game over after one minute, Rovers are not good at coming back from being behind. The rest of that half justified that call. We have been lucky so far, I reckon a bit more steel in midfield to feed forwards, maybe Clifton or Broadbent on for Lee, bring Mols and Haks further in from the wing at times to feed Bails and Billy.

The best thing about that was it is now over. Grant has to change things.
Half time and only 1 down is nothing to overly worry about- IF we can show what we have been doing recently.
It is definitely one of the worst half’s I’ve watched this season, magnified even further by who we are playing.
Title: Re: Rovrum V TLOD
Post by: DonnyBazR0ver on February 21, 2026, 01:31:18 pm
They all need smelling salts at half time. Waking up will be a good start just to match them.

The only problem with taking McGrath off is that the only replacement is Bailey, so we lose striking power, Pearson is too slow and unreliable to put him on and leave the left hand side open for them to drive through.

There should have been a red for that awful looking elbow to the eye socket of McGrath by their striker - I’m still shocked given it was around the halfway line, the 4th and lino should’ve flagged that up.

I watched the game on tele, and the defender trying to stop Middleton getting the cross in for Hanlon to score was playing Hanlon onside, just. Hanlon was in front of the defender chasing him into the box as he scored, but he was not in front of the last defender out on the left trying to stop Middleton getting the cross in from what I could see.
