A good start to the year for us in the league:
Played 9, won 5, drawn 2, lost 2.
3 away wins and 2 home wins.
3 clean sheets.
Took the lead in 6 of the 9 games.
1.9 ppg. Over season 87 points and very top end play off places.
13 goals scored, 11 conceded, plus 2 GD.

Where do we end up if we can keep that up to the end of the season? Just outside the play offs I reckon. Happy with that.
-
The OP states hat keeping that up would give us a play off spot.

Nope he means over the whole season it would get us play offs, some seasons it would even get us second.... Carrying on current form until the end of the season will get us comfortably top half.

Apologies, just read it again and agree with you.

Mid 60’s points and mid table.

And we should have won wigan and bolton ffs that would currently put us on 9 pts outside top 6 with 2 games in hand.. a lot closer than when we started the miracle run 2 years ago..

Things are definitely looking a lot more positive than at the end of 2025.
17 points from 9 games in 2026 sounds like a team with the quality to challenge for promotion.
But for context 10 of those points have come against 4 teams in the bottom 6.
We look more like a mid table quality team who've made the most of a relatively easy set of fixtures.
Still a vast improvement on where we were through the Autumn and into December.
The test is can Rovers maintain this level of performance when a tougher set of fixtures come along and they don't have the opportunity of a regular confidence boost from playing (and beating) some very poor sides.
Avoiding relegation is still the aim. And though this looks much more likely than at New Year it's still not a given.

When we’re looking at staying in the league it’s better to beat those around you than those at the top. I’ll be happy with a point on Saturday vs Cardiff

I think 53 points see’s us safe, so it’s 14 points from 14 games …. And counting… massive 6 points last week….

There's more than enough opportunities to get those required points. Yes, 5 of the top 8, but also some mid-table sides with little to play for!
Think we'll know where we are at by the end of Easter.
