Title: Haks
Post by: Thorney on March 07, 2026, 05:35:09 pm
Cannot be a happy man.

Only outfield player not to get on the field. And probably one of the only players with that bit of quality that can change a game.

Can see him leaving in the summer, contract teminated by mutual agreement.

Doesnt look the type of player to take being left out well at all.

Maybe down to Ramadan grant avoiding day games but will start him on Tuesday night after he had chance to eat

I was disappointed he didn’t come on- he might be half fit and out of form but I still thought he was the best hope on the bench to make something happen.  I thought Hanlan was immense in getting us up the pitch.

Hanlan did ok in the horrific role of holding the ball up. Obviously no balls behind for him to run on to, an actual strength of his.

What was the point in signing a player if he can’t play at some point ??

Didn’t like the 18 months deal for Hakeeb. Going back to him looked like a lack of ideas. If he was brought in to improve the team he should be playing though. No excuse for there being any surprises from him, the staff know him inside out. Maybe he was brought in as a 4th choice winger, who knows.

Haks wouldn’t have signed just until the end of this season, if we wanted him we had to show commitment & give him 18 months but yes, he should be accommodated in the side. He’s like Lee in that he can give you that ‘something different’ going forward.

We have to find a way to hurt Luton, give them something different to think about. Long balls up to Hanlan or Sharp doesn’t cut it. Sharp needs good balls played quickly into the box where his positional sense can get us goals. I don’t know what Hanlan needs.

People often mention these but I'm sceptical this actually exists in the professional game.

They don’t really exist.

Why? He’s not playing because he’s not getting picked, not because he’s injury prone or unprofessional.
