The injury is continuing to cause problems, I hope he manages to get some time on the pitch before the end of the season. His retirement may well come at the end of the season I reckon, good luck to him for his future, he has a history which many, many players will envy.
-
I'm sure they'll find a way to get him on the pitch one way or another. Hopefully as fit as he can cos he's got at least one more goal left in him.
-
If Scunthorpe get promoted it wouldn’t surprise me
If he has another crack at getting this goal
Record he is after ,
If they don’t he might well hang his boots up
-
Billy can still score goals, just not in our team with how we play. We just don’t suit him at all to the point where it’s like being a man down every time he starts a game.
-
He's already said he's fairly sure this is his last season. Undoubted quality but the body at the top level gives up for everyone eventually. Hopefully he gets a final run out in a home game for us and a huge reception.
-
When Billy does hang up his boots for the last time, that a testimonial type game can be arranged for him between us and Sheffield United...be it at the Eco or at Bramall Lane.
A true pro!

Anyone know what his future plans are? Managerial, coaching, fashion brand, race horses, kitchen knives?

Bring back the days when ex footballers bought pubs or haulage companies!

Surely one last season playing for Scunthorpe where it all began?

Scunthorpe might have been where it all took off for him but he’d already played for 2 clubs before he made his debut there.
Mind you he wouldn’t get a game at either Sheff Utd or Rushden, both for very different reasons!

Although I think Rushden sacked a couple of players for fighting with each other on the pitch this week so they may need the numbers!

Had no idea there was a phoenix club, every day’s a school day. Could definitely still do it at that level!

You can add selling insurance to that list.

Got our tickets for the last home game just in case it’s his last appearance there. It was that or the Reading game, but the possibility of seeing him in our shirt one last time tipped the balance.
