Went to that game. Absolutely amazing day out. Season had tailed off by then but Sammy Chung had put together a fine team. Top guy, Sammy.

Never mind calling Barry Richardson - Mad Baz , Mickey Norbury was a total fruit loop, didn’t he push his girlfriend’s mother down the stairs.

Jailed for two years in July 1990.

Wow 31 years.
Great memories, fourth goal was absolute class and am sure I spent the next season in Donny Sunday league trying to copy the Norbury finish for the 5th goal (without success).

Was that Jimmy Kelly (before we signed him) a few years later or am I getting our porridge players mixed up?

Must have been like when he got concussion as Halifax ran in 4 2nd half goals after we went in 3-0 up at half time.

I know we saw him at his parents not long after Scunny game and reminded him of score then

We’d been terrible for quite a few seasons until 1994/95. Absolutely battered a load of sides that season but ran out of steam after we sold a few players. That was some side though. Demolished a load of sides. Remember a famous late away win against Scarborough at their old ground. Chaos.

I think it was, in front of us.... who scored it?? Was it 2-0 though? I think we had a 2-2 draw as well, I could be thinking of that one.

We did get 2 very late goals to draw 2-2 I think when we had a lad from Spurs playing. I remember somebody saying “They could have loaned us Klinsman”. Which made me smile. Probably 1995?

Vince Brockie as goal scorer possibly?

Sure it was David Roche

I remember Andy Turner playing at Exeter and running the home side ragged, winning 5-1 after being 4-0 up at halftime, David Roche got sent off. Played Huddersfield in the FA cup at home a week later, lost 2-1 I think , but David Roche got sent off again !!!

I thought the sending off was our striker Jones. Him helping Howe at Newcastle.

No, defo Norbury did time for manslaughter,  apparently pushed his missus downstairs during an argument.

Roche, signed for Southend but was hanging around with some bad people and got knee capped. I can't remember if that happened in Newcastle or Southend though.

Mad times really because Jamie Lawrence also did time just before signing for us.

Yes it was L7 supported by Wool.
Often used to go there on a Saturday night.
2 or 3 bands plus an indie disco afterwards until 3am.
No fannying about having to get a ticket in advance either.
Just turn up and pay in the door and usually less than a tenner.
When we came out of the venue and there was no car I had to find a phone box.
When I got through to the police they told me they’d found the car.
It was abandoned at the notorious flats which overlook the city.
Went with a couple of policemen to pick the car up.
They had to hot wire it to start it as the ignition was knackered.
Went back to the station to give a statement and finally got back to Crowle around 6 on Sunday morning.

L7 must have been the time when they made a rather notorious appearance on a late channel 4 show (name has escaped me). I think they also played Reading that year.

My mate was at uni there so we had free digs whenever, so went leadmill / uni / octagon once fortnight. We reckon to have seen Coldplay and Radiohead as support bands amongst others . And when I say seen , I mean stand in little bar and pay no attention.

'kin hell Turnbull, did you kip on my floor/sofa.? Saw Oasis there supporting some group, again memory let's me down . It kicked off in a big way with the BBC and Guvnors, also the Happy Mondays supporting the Shamen and exactly the same. Jazz on on Sunday lunch time was a lot more chilled but often smelt of vomit from the night before!
