I know this topic as been done to death, but we really do need something to whip the atmosphere up just prior to kick of.
Wild Rover as been mentioned no end of times,so how about this version which as double Doncaster Rovers connection (Rover and Viking).
I'm sure it would sound fantastic played loud just as the player's entered the field with it's aggressive drum beat.
It's by \"TYR\" a Viking metal band from the Faroes.
\"TYR\" is the Norse God of War and Justice.

Do we assume you sing along to the impossible dream then?
Maybe the reason there is a lack of atmosphere at the KMS is that the \"Impossible Dream\" has sent half the fans to sleep.

No.

Maybe. The stadium is three quarters empty anyway when they play it, so not many to send to sleep.
That guitar would sound terrible through the tinny PA.
Also, listening to that I would be expecting little leprechauns to be running around the pitch, it just sounds too Irish.

Whats the song thats played before The Impossible Dream, It aint got any singing in?

We watch little leprechauns running all over the pitch anyway. The only difference being that only one was Irish but now he has gone to Bristol Rovers.

What a great choice of entrance song - we all know those words and we will soon have our own Donny version too I reckon!
I do like this...great bass line...it gets the hairs up on the back of me neck like Metallica do when they play Whiskey in the Jar at their Dublin gigs.
I'm sure they'll play good and loud if we ask for it and it must be that metal version you've found eastender - I love it!
Good luck!
-
Maybe it's my sheltered upbringing but I have absolutely no interest in seeing ANY player's entrance, regardless of what music is playing.
-
You've got my vote.
We voted before on an anthem. To me an anthem is different to entrance music.
Entrance music should be uplifting an get you clapping an tapping.
With this version I think you've got both.

Too right, they should be beamed onto the pitch Stark Trek stylee, that'd put the willies up the opposition

What about Deano?
-
OK will give you that one.
I am surprised you mention him though as you earlier stated it was a bit too Irish?
I presumed you would have seen Deano as British seeing as he is from Northern Ireland.
-
This would be great - I like the Viking connection, given our club badge! Not sure how the guitar solo would sound over the speakers, as someone else said. I do also like Impossible Dream, but there is a difference between an anthem and entrance music as has also been said. Is there not a more rousing version of Impossible Dream around? If we got someone like Russell Watson (The Voice - if I've got the name right) to do it for us it would be more rousing. That could be played earlier, and Wild Rover as the teams come out. As for the Irish connection, is not Molly Malone ever so slightly Irish - that's been a Rovers chant as long as I can remember, and I remember a long way back!
-
Impossible dream by Carter is much better. However, the Wild Rover is more appropriate.
-
We all know the reasoning behind the impossible dream but..............................as a song played at the KMS it is shite.
-
No Wellread Deano aint British he is Irish and he is from the United Kingdom. Unless you say ALL Irish are British!!
Confusing innit?
Good luck!
-
Not confusing at all DD I know exactly what you mean and agree with you 100%.
I'm not convinced Snods Shinpad would understand though.
-
Although its a wrestlers entrance, I quite liked The Game by Motorhead when the players came out for second half.

Not me Wellred - I just said I liked this version. Think it was Snods Shinpads.
No Deano is definately Northern Irish and not British. Well that's what my passport says :)
