Title: Thanks Rovers
Post by: Barnie41 on February 17, 2010, 11:01:22 am
Not been on here since you moved to this site - but as a Blades ST holder and part time Rovers fan, thought I'd get down to the sty to see your good selves last night. My brother and nephew were in the Wednesday end, giving it the big one about massive club etc etc, and I was just praying for what happened. Great atmosphere amongst your end - loads of smiling faces and folk enjoying the night. Brilliant performance - I saw more football in that 90 minutes than I have all season at the Lane. Wednesday never looked like getting close to you - and you made them look daft second half.

One very happy Blade (Rovers) fan this morning. Only down side was me being in the tea queue when the first went in - but apart from that, can't fault you at all. Great football, fans and great club.

Embarrassed listening to Blackwell on P & G on the way back - not surprised we lost at Forest. Wednesday and Utd are on a par right now - decent grounds, crap football and crap atmosphere. Rovers are going the right way. Stick with it, and with O'Driscoll - your doing great.

Thanks Barney, although I've got to say it is very enjoyable listening to Blackwell having a rant at radio commentators, blaming anyone apart from himself

Its happened before - when we were in the Premier - did loads of away matches. Wigan away - my lads 16th birthday, thought I'd get a brew just before half time. The blades scored and that was the only goal of the only away win I saw all season. As Harry Enfields old geezer would say ' BUGGER'.

Football - don't you just love it?

I missed Hayter's goal at Wembley  my daughter was finishing her pint! She came to keep me company, having got lost when I went to Cardiff on my own.

Me too. We were finishing off a half time pint when a loud roar came from the Rovers fans. Fortunately there was about a 15 second delay on the TV pictures being streamed onto the concourse so we looked up to see the corner being taken and Hayter finishing it off.

Nice to have you still in the fold, Barney mate.  You do realise that you are now our official winning mascot, dont you?

Good to be back Rob - thoroughly enjoyed it last night. Haven't been to the KMS for ages - will have to rectify that when home games don't clash.

Barnie, you're a welcome part of our forum so long as you keep hold of Blackwell and therefore we keep hold of Sharp  ;)

I fear Blackie is here to stay - whilever he's willing to put with things as they are. If there is any justice, Billy will stay at DRFC and help take Rovers to the next stage. Sadly, some managers can't see the wood for the trees.

Just looked at your list - might be able to get over for the Leicester game next week - do lucky mascots get free beer and a prime seat then?

not in this lifetime, fans are too fickle and get on their teams back if they dont win every game, thats not SO'Ds style, besides,we all know he takes half a year to get the results, and thats with a team who know how to keep it on the deck, feck knows how long it would take to sort the blades out.

barnie, do yourself a favour and look at the highlights for that goal you missed. that and the hayter goal are the reason why i never leave my seat before half time and im always back in it before the whistle starts the second half :D
