Doncaster Rovers Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Arsenal midfielder Jay Emmanuel-Thomas on an initial one-month loan deal.
Supporters of the Rovers will remember Emmanuel-Thomas' fine performance against Sean O'Driscoll's side during the exhilarating 3-3 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium at the end of October, with the central midfielder capping off his performance with a scintillating solo effort.
Emmanuel-Thomas has progressed through the youth system at The Emirates, leading The Gunners' U18's to a League and Cup 'double' in his first season as a young professional. Boasting versatility throughout a range of midfield positions, Emmanuel-Thomas first skippered the Arsenal Academy at the age of 16 and has since progressed to becoming a regular in the Premier League giants' reserve side.
The 19 year-old Arsenal starlet, who will bring height and power to the Rovers midfield - standing at 6'2'', joined fellow Championship side Blackpool on an initial one-month loan deal. During his time at Bloomfield Road, Emmanuel-Thomas made eleven appearances and netted two league goals; before returning to north London, where he has been a regular in Arsene Wenger's eighteen-man squad.
Emmanuel-Thomas will go straight into the Doncaster Rovers squad to take on Crystal Palace this weekend.

Quick off the mark Nathan.....well done! Thank goodness we did get him - how we will need this guy in coming games!
C'mon you Reds!
cheers, Gartom

I'd heard from a reliable source that he was at the KMS yeterday in the company of Mickey Walker. However, many a slip and all that. Looks like the announcement was delayed to throw Palace a curve ball.
Excellent news!

Gartom- any news on Stocky? I suspect this signing means that we've seen the last of him for this season and he will have his op now. Shame- I would have loved to see him and J E-T in the same side.

If he has a good loan spell here, it won't be long before he's in the Arsenal team week after week. Cannot wait for this game now!
