Don't know if this has been mentioned but Heffernan's goal today for Bristol Rovers was his 100th Career League Goal.
Well done Heffs!!

Well done Heffs - deserves a standing ovation.
STILL one of my all time fave Rovers players :)

Seems to be quickly becoming a fave in the other half of Bristol if my Gas-head colleagues at work in Bristol are to be believed. Although he's only scored 2 goals, he making chances, putting a shift in and making others click. He's a top notch player for League One.

...maybe if he'd have done more of that here, he'd have still been in SOD's plans. For me, its his general work rate thats been his major downfall over the last few seasons.
I know others will disagree, but that's my honest opinion.

I assume that those 15-20 matches last season when he led the line on his own In a 4-4-1-1 formation and we were the second best side in the division were a hallucination then? I'd have sworn that I regularly saw him putting in a huge shift against strapping defenders and playing the centre forward role with bravery and intelligence. AND scoring goals at one every other match.
Clearly my memory is shot. I must cut down on the ale.

He was brilliant last season and definitely kept us in championship. Not been given a fair chance then having said that in football your only as good as your last game

Trouble is his last game was last season, he never got a chance this season and then got frozen out. A waste of a potential few hundred thousand if we had told him no thanks at the end of last season we could have had clubs playing each other in an auction. We ran down his value, much as some of the lightweights on here do and then let him go for nothing. The worst mistake SOD has made. That is not saying Heffs should be in the team, it isn't saying that SOD should have put him in the team, it is saying we have wasted good resources.

it's just how the time line panned out.
we only loaned billy sharp on the last minutes of deadline day which was too late to put Paul in the for sale shop window.
agree we would have got some sale fee then but it's in the past now.
good luck to him at bristol next season on a free.

Funny how things turn out.
Where would we be if Chris Killen had accepted a few grand less and signed as planned, instead of Sharp?
Doesn't bear thinking about really.

Always rated Heffs probz one of the greatest strikers we've had in recent years.Shame things haven'nt work out this season, but glad to see he's finding his form at Bristol Rovers and tbh I think it will be a great move for him if it becomes a permo deal

The worst mistake SO'D has made is letting Paul Green go, apparently he's alluded to the fact already. Heffernan on the other hand is not good enough at this level, never looked interest half the time and his overall contribution each game was poor. Found his level and good luck to him!
