Although he is one of the clubs best players, he just hasn't kicked into full flow yet since he came back from injury.
In my opinion I'd start with Copps instead of him on Saturday and switch the midfield around slightly to accomodate for two similar players in copps and sheils
Thoughts?

honestly? i think i'd drop shiels to the bench instead of woods.
-
So how is leaving him out going to get him back to playing how he was before getting injured?
-
Shiels was our least affective player tonight, i just hope copps will have recovered from his viral infection and is fit for saturday.
-
Missed him tonight....he normally turns the magic on against the big sides

Agree totally, he has been woeful recently, I thought he couldn't look less interested than he did at Peterborough, I was wrong!! A poor mans Coppinger whose wages I would use to bring someone in with a bit of heart.
Also (with regret) Martis will never be a Championship Standard defender, I'd love to be proved wrong but he isn't good enough, pace alone will not get him through, if it did I'm sat next to a springer spaniel right now who I would rather partner JOC in defence.

Martis scared the shit out of me tonight. For such a big lad he didn't use his size and power well, and he was beat in the air a lot tonight and was more interested in letting the ball bounce instead of attacking it. On top of that his distribution was poor, if it wasn't going astray it was just a hoof up the middle. He has been solid upto tonight but just didn't look comfortable against Carroll at all.

To be honest I never rated Martis when he was on loan last season and I haven't seen anything to change my mind, however he puts in a shift whenever he plays unlike Shiels who frustrates me so much just likes Copps used to do, bags of talent but can't be arsed to put the effort in.Copps has managed to lose that from his game (most of the time!!) hope Sheils can do the same.

I wish somebody would teach Woods to tie his laces, he seems to spend the first five minutes of every half pissing about with them.

for goodness sake give woodsy the chance hes been out a long while and any sportsman/women whos had a injury professionally or at whatever level, and been out for a while like woods, cant just step back in and be on top form, form takes time and maybe woodsy wont hit peak form again this season but give the lad a chance hes back playing for us and hes by far and away one of our best players. Its not just his play on the ball, i think people forgot when watching us, that he does a tremendous amount of work of the ball, closing down getting in position the norm for a good player, thats what a real football fan notices not just a couple of loose passes, missed tackles etc, forms temporary, class is perminant. And dont forgot we nearly lost him to Preston in the transfer window so lets be happy hes still a rover.

Yes, Woods is nowhere near up to full speed yet. I'd also like to see Mutch given a run out along side Oster. I think he could do the Wilson role.
Another combo I hope to seebefore the season's out is Oster and Stock in the middle, with Copps and a fully fit Woods in their wide positions.
I think Stock anchoring the midfiled would allow Oster to weave his magic further up the pitch, as I think he's better at it then Wellens !
