Come on its Saturday guys ....how did he do !!!???!!!
-
As far as im concerned he gets better each game.Odd pass went astray but overall had a great game for me.
Amazes me why he gets such a rough ride?
Thought he was 10 times better than JET who again loooked lazy as!
-
He was ok, although he went missing for large parts of the 2nd half. It was better than he played on Tuesday though.
-
Mark seems to be getting to grips with his role in place of Stock, he has grown in stature as each game by game , he may not have Stock's sence of timing or pacing ability ,what he's doing is good for the team and it's working.

So he was sat in the stands with us was he?
Yet another dig VJ!

I agree with Rovin Reporter, he has grown into his role with a run of games. Last year alot of people thought Roberts was a weak link, look how he's grown into the CCC. Yes Wilson had a few dodgy passes yesterday, but yet again so did others. Carry on Mark Wilson!!

For the last three games he's done well. He does have a habit of messing up the easy ball after doing the hard work, but making mistakes is forgivable, what I like is the fact that he's getting involved and having more impact on games, possibly growing in confidence. My gripe with him in the past has been when he's strolled through games without contributing anything but I'm more than happy to see that tide changing in the last few, long may it continue.
Coppinger was man of the match by the way.

Yet another dig? But it's true he did have a good game, made some good tackles, played some good passes dealt with the derby game expectations well, however when dingles had there few minutes of domination he did go missing as did everyone else, but again our defending was spot on yesterday, especially from Sullivan.

I think you're missing the point Stockyboy....I agree he has a good game. It was my response to VJ that said \"yet another dig\" re him going missing in the second half.
Oh well....

Oh yeah I know that, but all I'm saying is he did for a few minutes when Barnsley had there few minutes of dominance, but then again everyone seemed to go missed except the defence and sullivan. I know what you mean though.

Couldn't agree more about Wilson. He seems to have made a conscious effort to play his game at a higher tempo. The mistakes will come with that approach but that's the deal you make. In the past my main complaints with him were that he was always 5 yards from the action but rarely influencing it, and when he got the ball, our tempo dropped by 50%.
Against Newcastle, neither of these criticisms could be levelled at him. He was industrious in breaking up their attacks and he released the ball quickly and accurately apart from those couple of horrendous 10 yard passes to opponents on the second half. Infuriating and costly as they were, I'd take the overall performance - God knows Stock's radar isn't always 100% accurate and we rarely complain whe his simple passes go astray. If Wilson played like that every week, there'd be nothing to debate.

Are you blind? I've just given him credit for having an alright game, and putting an improved performance on Tuesday.
What do you expect me to do other than to give an honest assessment? I've given him credit for upping his game from Tuesday, just because I don't start making out that he is a world beater after 1 half-decent game, it doesn't mean I'm having a dig.

So from being \"he was OK, but went missing for large parts of the 2nd half\" to \"having an alright game\"... You know how to contradict yourself.
Anyway if you say that your initial comments are not a dig at Mark Wilson then congrats. That must be a first.

He did go missing for large parts of the 2nd half, but first half he did alright, and for a small time in the 2nd half he did alright. Alright = average: Not brilliant, but not too bad. I'd say having an ok first half, and a quiet second half would mean he played alright overall. Obviously you disagree.
I don't know why you are arguing with me tbh. Obviously you think that he played well all game. Fine. I think he faded as the game went on. Hardly slating him, more an observation. Why you decided to have a go at me I don't know. I suspect it may be something personal after my comments on Tuesday.

Whats more to the point no Woods slowing it down and we win again Wilson in for me every time.

Agreed, I would choose Wilson over Woods in my team every time.
We all know Wilson might not be the most naturally gifted player but for me he has been the most consistent midfield player this season, and I hope he is offered a new contract.
-
ffs cant anyone give him credit, best game Ive seen him have this season yesterday. Well done
-
It was most certainly up there with one of this best games, I'd go as far as saying his 2nd, however for me though Sheffield Wednesday away was his best game.
I agree with the Woods post as well, we seemed to attack a lot quicker with out him and it worked :)
