Title: Billy Sharp shown too many yellows
Post by: Yorkshire Lad on March 28, 2010, 12:12:20 pm
His 5th yellow card was shown at him at the Barnsley game, therefore an automatic ban is in order for the next game against Plymouth.

Towards the end of the season I believe yellow cards are removed and the slate clean again.

Is it not 10 cards for a ban at this stage?

Usually the one match ban for five yellows applies up to February, but this season the date was moved forward by about a month. Therefore Billy is not at risk of a ban- nor would he have been in previous seasons.

Anyone picking up 10 yellows before mid-April will receive a two game ban.

The \"leader\" in the Rovers card count this season is James Chambers on 7 yellows. He has not had to serve a ban to date, and if he can get through the next 2-3 games he will have the slate wiped clean.

It was January at the latest, maybe even December when the 5 cards ban ended.
