Title: Steve Brooker training
Post by: Branton Rover on March 28, 2010, 01:25:28 pm
On Friday last a mate of mine reported that he'd witnessed Steve being given an extremely thorough work out in training running/sprinting with the ball & working up a real lather.   This is tremendous news hopefully he'll be able to resume fully for pre-season this is just to quash some negative Brooker posts of late

He'll probably give Kieran Dyer a ring.

This is terrific news and something the Official site should be letting us all know if accurate. A fit Brooker would certainly soften the blow when Billy leaves.

How would it? Dont want to put a dampener on things, but he has everything to prove to us here and hes been out for near on two seasons. So not going to be the big impact man we all crave when Billy does leave. Hope i'm wrong, but cant see it!

After the recent Toon home game, I was walking through the park next to the lake and saw a figure in the bushes acting suspiciously.

I looked closely and it appeared to be a big bald headed creature, who was reading what looked to be a match day program. It was looking at the fixture list drooling, and was rubbing its hand furiously up and down what looked like a walking aid, cackling with glee.

Shocked by this sight I screamed loudly. The startled creature, hurriedly scuttled away and jumped into the lake.

Just before it disappeared under the water I thought I heard it scream something about Vicarage Road. It was at this point I whipped out my camera and  I managed to take this grainy snap.

To add to this mystery, the mysterious figure had a bad limp and  was wearing a home shirt with the number 9 on the back.

Do you think this could be a sighting of the mythical 'Brooker of Keepmoat'?

What I have seen with my own eyes from a distance of approx 30m (ie across the car park at Cantley Park training ground ) at 11-50am on Thursday 25th March 2010 was Steve Brooker and Byron Webster in full training kit being put through their paces by a member of DRFC physio team.

Great news, that.  Brooker still needs wrapping in cotton wool and bringing through slowly, but to have him in the squad for next season will be a fantastic boost.
