We are starting work on the 50 issue of the football.

The deadline is April 15th.
Issue 50 will be on sale for £1 at the Scunthorpe game, and we welcome donations above the £1 cover charge.

Any articles are most appreciated.

Well done on reaching 50 issues Nathan. Still a good read.
I know you're proud of keeping the cover price to £1 but the costs of producing it aren't going to stop going up. Just pass it on to us and put the price up. We'll still buy it. If you take inflation into account, it'd be as if you were trying to sell the first issue for 70p.
In comparison, the programme must've gone up by half at least in the time you've been doing the fanzine.

Thanks.
There's a couple of reasons we have kept it at a £1. One is that people come up to us with the pound in their hand - that's what they expect to pay. The other is, if we put it up to say £1.30, or £1.50, we'd have to have a lot of change to give people.
What we are thinking of doing in future (because a lot of people have mentioned the price) is that the Minimum price will be £1 but if people want to give us more, great, if they don't, great, still a pound.
-
Well I hope people appreciate it enough to pay more, I think it's worth £1.50 and will happily pay that.
-
Make it £2.00, Id still pay that - its better than the matchday programme, and will still be cheaper anyway.
-
Surely it's worth a tenner of anyone's money...
-
I'll be paying £2 when I buy mine on the West Stand, I've got 30 odd in shoe boxes; they are timeless - the jokes about Rotherham and stories of away days still ring true.
How about the VSC switch the'Buying a programme' status to 'Buying a Fanzine' ? The kids pick that kind of stuff up!
-
Nathan, when was the first issue of the fanzine published please? I've got it somewhere but I'm f**ked if I'm going to dig through all my old shoe boxes to find it!

Our back copies are in our resource library (otherwise known as a box in the loft) so I can't say for certain until I fetch them down. I think it was about January 1998.
-
That's close enough for me. Cheers mate.
