Gillingham slipped into the relegation zone and remain without an away win all season following defeat at Oldham.
Lewis Guy scored on 59 minutes when he controlled Dale Stephens' pass before slotting into the corner from 10 yards.
Earlier, Gillingham's Andy Barcham fired straight at Latics goalkeeper Dean Brill and Rene Howe should have done better with a free header.
Oldham were comfortable after going ahead and Pawel Abbott twice went close to doubling their lead.

I've seen the goal on SSN, the control was more like the ball bouncing up and hitting his knee.

Typical numpty comment about Lewis even when he's not here , would rather him come on up front than Adam Lockwood

With out it being anti Lewis Guy he's not good enough for the Championship.
But lets wish him well in League 1 where he may find his level with a regular place in the Oldham team. This may earn him a contract & save both his & Dave Penny's careers.

If that was aimed at me, why is it a numpty comment?
He didn't control it really, it actually just hit him and went into his path. If you want me to make out that he controlled it and did a Ronaldo-esque flick over the defender before powering in a shot from 25 yards, then I can do, but it wouldn't be the truth would it.

Big well done to Lewis, finally getting a goal, I'm one of the few who likes Lewis and find it a shame things haven't worked out here. But good luck to the lad, hope he does well there. It was a good goal, well composed for a \"guy\" who gets criticized a lot.

Because Viking James you can't resist having a pop at Lewis it might not be the greatest goal or even a half decent goal but they all count and he should be congatulated on scoring...at last.... and left at that . I would still rather him come on to play up front instead of Adam Lockwood

thought it was a wonderfully taken goal, he has alot of ability, SOD would not say the things he does about him in training if that was not the case.
But its the mental side of the game where instead of focusing he just sees the faces of the 10K plus that's watching.

Is a 30 yard screamer worth more than a 6 yard fumbled shinner?

I once witnessed Billy Sharp have a shot that went out for a throw-in, and the fans sang Billy, Billy Sharp etc.............If only Lewis got the same support!
Hopefully he will with his new club, and be a revelation for them, if only to upset the numpty Rovers fans who shat on him.
