this must be the tightest year in a long time. the championship already has 2 teams promoted and looking at the table from 2nd to 4th in lg1 there is not much in it.
I think norwich and Millwall will be the teams coming up however if millwall lose tonight to udders then who knows.
-
I think it'll be Norwich and Leeds, with either Millwall/Swindon to win the play-offs.
I'd like Leeds to mess it up again though, just for a bit of a laugh.
-
tonight will be a big factor for milwall. If they lose then I dont think they will go up automatcally especially if Leeds beat Gillingham tomorrow.
no one is actually breaking away. I actually fancy Southampton being the playoff promoted team. They probabaly have a better striker partnership than a lot of teams in the ccc. Something like 53 goals between Lambert and bernard in lg1 this season.

Hudders just taken the lead against Millwall. Personally I'd like to see Leeds and Huddersfield get promoted. The more local derbies the better

Infact, I reckon Leeds could flourish in their new surroundings (presuming they go on to win promotion). In League One, they are the team that everyone wants to get one over on and every single game they have to deal with the \"cup final\" kind of mentality from the opposition. However, in the Championship, the pressure will be distributed more evenly amongst all teams in the division and the pressure of expectation from within their own fanbase may not be as great as what it is in League One, where they are expected to win every week. Therefore, they could be a dark horse to do reasonably well and surprise a few people next season.
As for the play-offs, it really will be a lottery. Swindon (if they come up) would be favourites for relegation, as I don't think they have teh resources to make a huge impact on the Championship. Millwall may also struggle as well, despite being excellent in League One during the time Kenny Jackett has been at the New Den. Charlton would have the resources but have flattered to deceive all too often in recent times.
At a guess, I'd say Millwall will win the play-offs but it'll be a close run thing.
Rigo, I know one of the Millwall strikers very well and he reckons that if they do come up to the CCC, the squad they have will have to be strengthened by a couple more strikers and a big midfielder plus a back-up 'keeper.
They are satisifed with the current crop of players and behind the scenes at Millwall everything is quite settled. The only person making much noise with the Board there is the manager - he wants more funding even though things are very tight cash-wise there. Wonder where we've heard that before!
I honestly hope that they do come up, give me something to gloat about when Rovers beat them

Personally, I'm rooting for Swindon. I can't lose. Guaranteed three points home and away, and, I get to watch t'Rovers for less han a gallon of petrol for the entire return journey. Perfick.
Cheers

Oh, and I get to gloat over all the Robins at work too.

I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am at the thought of Norwich coming back up..
Finally a ground that I will be able to get to easily..£11 bus fare is so much easier to find than a hotel and train fare!
Mind you, I thought that this time last year when Posh came up and we only ever got a poxy night game from them..:(
-
Nope :( lol
Mind you, Norwich is a fair way away from Heacham so I always thought it was good value..all day rover pass I think it's called. It cost nearly six pounds to get the thirteen miles into Kings Lynn.. the penalty for being so rural I suppose.

Rigo, are you taking the proverbial? How would Leeds doing \"reasonably well\" in the championship, the championship for goodness sake, surprise anyone??!
-
Norwich up and..... well, no one else seems to want it
Leeds? and Hudders from the play offs?
-
Norwich up, but all to play for in the final place. It is Leeds' to lose.
Not wanting to put pressure on them, like. ;)
-
Don't worry Baron they thrive under the pressure! ;)
