I wouldn't like to call it mate. I'm just going to enjoy the world cup and leave it to our board...they are far to clever to let us down.
The way I see it is, we have another year in the championship, if we fall we have a good few years to get up before things get rotten

staff i dont expect to see next year are sod, o kelly , chambers ,o conner , sharp, stock and woods all of to so called bigger teams who and the means and finance to turn they heads . pplus lockwood ,spicer ,heffs ,guy ,wilson and some younger squad members ,all who are out of conract and not be offered a new one

Congratulations! You have pulled together a list of players in/ out through a combination of trawling internet forums and stating the blindingly obvious. This has involved minimal effort and no original research. You are now a football journalist on a tabloid daily. Well done!

Jesus Christ, lets add Mr Ryan, the full board members and all the office staff. I think you're fogetting that 3 weeks ago we were been tipped for a play off place! I imagine with the right investment, we'll be there or there abouts in 2010/11.
In SO'D we trust.

I personally believe it's 99 percent nailed on that Sharp will not be here. Alternatives are the key to ensuring we score more goals. Based on what I've seen of late:
We need a stronger defence, goalscoring midfielder (or two), poacher up front, target man and a pacy striker.
Lots to work at and the worry is how many of our players are out of contract.

I wouldn't write Billy Sharp off just yet.Listening to football heaven on Friday night and it sounds like Blackwell still doesn't rate Billy.
Quote \" But i said to Billy, you've got to wait son bide your time there's to many other people ahead of ya .\"
Time to move on Billy. :)

If he is to leave Sheffield United, then I doubt that we will sign him permanently. As much as I would love to see Billy here permanently, I don't think the board will be prepared to shell out upwards of £1 million and pay his wage demands, which are apparently at the top end of the scale in terms of Championship wages. And rightly so, I think we are asking for trouble if we start spending any further beyond our means.
-
There was also a text the other day where a Sheff Utd fan had said they had spoke to Billy at the darts and he said it is 100% that he wont be at the blades next year if Blackwell is.
Think there was also something on bladesmad site where someone had seen Billy in a bar and asked if he was staying and Billy apparently said he would love to be scoring goals there but it just hasnt worked out and doesnt look like he is staying.
I know its pretty much common knowledge but the fact that the above appear to have come from Billy himself (and why would people make it up) then hopefully we may have a chance.
Im not as sure now as I was a month or 2 back that Blackwell is going to get sacked.

JR is prepared to go to £750,000 for Billy, he reckons Sheff Utd have no chance of getting £1.5m for a player in the last year of his contract, he is hopeful of retaining pretty much all our current squad and would really like 3 new signings for next season: Sharp, Shackell and one other, he's also interested in looking at getting JET on a season long loan next year! So you never know - don't write anything off just yet!

I'm the positive type, but that aside, the realist in me tells me that the above is not beyond DRFC and well believable.
-
I'm just dreading \"mouthwatering\" season .......
but if Nick Montgomery comes I'll need to review my opinion of the DRFC management team - I'd rather have Mark \"heartbeat of the side\" Wilson!
-
Told that Montgomery is off to the north east or premiership.
Wouldn't surprise me if it was Middlesbrough and Gary O'Neill went the other way.
I'd be worried if we signed Parkin, I think what he does for PNE is great, he just wouldn't and couldn't do it here.

wont get mutch or montgomery and i wouldnt go for parkin and would have both ward and shackell
would agree with all your players out except keep brooker to see if fit by start of season why come all this way with him and dump him when he may be fit soon i would add james chambers to that list he has made the errors that led to 3 goals against plymouth blackpool and west brom if we get 2 centre halves then JOC back to rb hird to provide cover i would also farm out webster to see if he can cut it elsewhere
-

Chambers is professional, versatile, always fit and he's made the most appearances for us this season.
Getting rid would be a huge mistake.

Completely agree DM, Remembering that he can competently cover LB and RB positions this is the one position in the team which with Chambo as cover, we have quality as back-up. Add to that, if (when) a centre-back shortage strikes, Des can move across and Chambo can step in and both do a quality job. That kind of versatility for a club running on a tight budget is priceless.

but who would you prefer at right back?
also would you prefer a quality centre half or a versatile (play anywhere) player?
SOD will have to make some difficult decisions this summer

I thought who I prefer at right back was clear in my post...No?
