Title: Ticket prices
Post by: I-was-there1976 on April 19, 2010, 08:06:59 am
At what point will you start to think it's getting a bit over the top to watch football at this price (£?) as i'd rather the spend the money on ( ? )

For me £15 was the ceiling and i became bored/wise and decided to pick and choose a handful of games per season.

I can understand there are fans who would probably pay £100 a ticket if they had to because football is their life but it would be interesting to see what kind of price limit the average fan would pay.

IMO i reckon we've just about got their. Will it be £24 a game next season plus \"running costs\"?

Personally, I will pay whatever it costs to watch the Rovers - football isn't my life, but I enjoy supporting the team, and I can afford to do so. If money was tighter, I would probably have to pick and chose and would probably chose those games where the price is around £20 for an adults ticket. I'd certainly miss off the likes of Ipswich at £31 with high travel costs too.

Starting to think that way myself now, you have to prioritize and I`m afraid football wont be top any more.

you are so right my problem with this early bird is if you are a loyal supporter and money
isnt a problem you only pay something like 20 pounds extra if you are a loyal supporter
on alow income you have to pay something like 45 pound extra because you carnt meet the deadline seems so unfair and i think season ticket sales will be down this year because of this lack of understanding

When it costs more to watch a match than it does to get drunk its time for a rethink.

Burnley on the other hand have bumped up their prices alarmingly this season. Last year they charged a flat rate of £20, yet this season they have been charging £32 for some of the lesser games in the Premiership. It'll be interesting to see whether or not them t**ts drop their prices back to an affordable level, seeing as they are a Championship side next season.

Don't go counting any chickens Rigo, remember Burnley have the tactical genius that is Brian Laws to dig them out of their current hole!

To highlight the point about how much Ipswich rip everyone off at Portman Road, an adult paying on the day would pay £33.50.

Add to that rip-off the price of a bottle of beer and a small beef pie - £5.70. Portman Road must be the rip-off capital of the Championship.

No wonder, didn't Roy Keane say that he needed £5-6 million more, to take Ipswich up

At those prices he'll have it no trouble! Good attendance though 19k plus.

The time has now come where I will choose the matches I go to from next season. I will not be renewing my ST because I can't afford to. I will look at the fixture list to see when we play sides such as Portsmouth, Preston and Leicester (if they don't go up) and maybe a couple more, to visit grounds I've not been to.

We might not be at this level for long, and we may not get up for another 50 years, so I will find the money whilst we are at this level, no matter what.

I will pick my matches when we are back in league one but whilst we are at this level, I'm going to make the most of it  :scarf:

So you would rather give your money to another club and not the Rovers.

Aye, let's never go to an away game again.

I know that's not what you're saying but I much prefer away days than home days. Not sure why.

No, I am not saying that at all. Let me put it another way, due to my financial position I am going to prioritise games next season....that does not mean that I won't be going to home games...I will....but I do want to go to some grounds that I have not yet been to, including the grounds I referred to in my first post.

Sorry for any confusion  :)
