From Oldham's official website.
Manager Dave Penney has not ruled out making Lewis Guy's loan a permanent move.
The striker, who has been borrowed from Championship club Doncaster Rovers, has indicated he would like to stay at Boundary Park.
And as Guy, who has scored three goals in the last five matches, is out of contract this summer, that could ease the way for Latics to make a move for the player.
Penney said: \"Lewis is out of contract as are a lot of other players in the summer.
\"A lot will depend on whether we can afford him so we will have see where we are, what the budget is and see what we can do with our players who are out of contract.\"
The Latics manager, who signed Guy for Doncaster from Newcastle, has been impressed with the impact Guy has made at Boundary Park.
He explained: \"Lewis doesn't score enough goals, something he knows he hasn't done at Doncaster which has held him back.
\"He is bright, sharp and lively and causes centre halves problems. He has done well for us and has been taking the chances that have come his way.\"

Yeah I hope he goes there and does well. We don't need him anymore, he's not really up to this league but I'd love to see him do well at Oldham for Penney next season.

He might have been had people not been on his case every 2 seconds

Like he hasn't had enough chances to win the fans over.

He had his chance last season in countless matches upto christmas and wasn't upto it.

Not saying he hasn't had enough chances.
Even last season people were on his case, SOD said Guy is a confidence player so it doesn't help when 5,000 hairy arsed yorkshiremen start when Guys name is read out on the teamsheet.
I just thought it started to go a bit over the top on the lad.
But having said that I've a feeling league 1 might be his best level.
Good luck and thanks Lewis if you do end up at Oldham

and who gives a toss?
Mark McCammon scored the first goal at the Keepmoat, should we have kept him?
Blundell scored our first goal back in the football league, should we have kept him?! (the answer for this by the way is a resounding \"YES!!!\")

obviously one who likes to jump on someones back if things go wrong, just wonder who will be the next member of our squad that we all supposed to support will fall foul of the abuse they get if they dont come up to people expectations, pity we all cant be world beaters
glad my boss dosent jump on my back when i do the odd error or two

Maybe, but my customers aren't shy in giving me shit if I \"do the odd error or two\", which is what we are to Lewis Guy
-
i thought they already had.
since lewis guy has been out of the side they have set their sights on mark wilson

And that's only because Spicer isn't getting a game! ;-)

Lewis had his chances here, maybe high expectations when we signed him didn't help the lad.
\"Played for England at every level till U19\"
\" How did Rovers manage to get him\"
\" Clubs at higher levels were after him\"
Can't fault his work rate but as a striker it's goals he gets judged on and he hasn't scored enough in any division we have been in since he arrived.
Time for him to go and a new club will probably do his career no harm as he will at best always be on bench here.
If we are to move forward we need a stronger squad and Lewis is one that needs to go to make room for them.
