Title: The scum scunny fans who was fighting.
Post by: Red Wizard on April 24, 2010, 07:56:54 pm
Could not belive after such a good day and a great game a few scunny fans started fighting with some Rovers fans round the lake. Scum is all you are, From what i saw they ran up and hit the bloke from behind when there was KIDS about and then started shouting Iron Iron. Well you can shove your iron where the sun don't shine. Tossers

I am refraining from posting at the minute but though I'd reply to this. I could hear something kicking off round the lake. Then at the hill near sandy lane about three of there \"fans\" came legging it down threatening all the Rovers fans walking back to thier cars and headed in the direction of the trouble.
I hope those responsible were caught.

Had a quick glance of their forum, and can't see any mention of trouble, apart from a Rovers fan mentioning it.
Must say though, they are bigging up their support and how good it was. Yes they brought a few, but I thought they were very quiet throughout, and the only chant they have is the tiresome \"Iron, Iron\".

They also outnumbered us every time they came to Belle Vue :)

love the get out, Mr Frost.

But so disappointed that you can't keep your word.

Then again the forum does draw you back, doesn't it?

I do find it rather sad that you've barely posted since I said I would refrain for a while and the minute I post here you are quick to start bitching again. You can't even keep to the subject of the thread.

Back on topic, as I came out of the ground I saw some 40year old scunny blokes threatening a skinny rovers fan.  Dont know what started it, but it looked like it could have turned nasty, but then they walked off towards the Lakeside pub.

I walked back round the lake and up to Sandy Lane, and never saw anything.  In fact, lots of Rovers and Scunnys were walking together chatting about the game.  All seemed quite friendly.

It was up by the burger van that sits by the entrance to the lake side path. I have to say some of our younger followers didn't exactly cover themselves in glory - some fairly vile language being given out to scunny fans walking round the lake inflamed some passions shall we say. they then scarpered and left it to bigger boys to sort out.

Problem is these youngsters wont have seen football in the 80s/90s. Will never have had a chase on after the match, been on the receiving end of the bricks and bottles etc or had to fear for their safety at a football match. No understanding of the potential implications of their actions.

Had to calm down one couple myself who's mrs was getting the benefit of their attention. Shame really as even Scunny by and large seemed to have enjoyed the game - bit of a pre season feel about it all

Or even worse the 70's.   Things had relatively calmed down by the 80's ;)

Thought there away following was poor really, yes they only get 5,000 or so at home but with it is only 20 mile away for them and would of thought it being their last away game would near enough sell out,as for the trouble we parked up near Cheswold for the 1st time and stayed after the game till the players did the lap and we didn't see any trouble when walking round the lake

They just about sold the allocation they were given - they may have sold more on the day if they had been given a higher allocation, as it happens, Rovers said that the additional 1,000 tickets would have to be paid for upfront with no returns due to the additional police costs we would have incurred.

Personally, I never saw any trouble around the ground, but it did look like something was going to kick off around the station area when we were driving through Donny.

No probs in the station when I got the train back, a few between the KMS and station but nothing at the station.

One of there lads had is colours on as well the other two just had shorts and t-shirt on. They did not look the hooli sort tbh. I think i saw them in Cheswolds before the game with a big fat bird sat out side and they was ripping the piss out of each other then. I think it may of been the skiny kid who got hit Rob. Was he with another lad who was carrying a baby?

Didnt see who he was with, and i didnt see any punches thrown. I was just about to go over as it was 2 or 3 against 1, then the scunny fellas turned and walked off, after much pointing and shouting.

the coppers in the area, and there were plenty, did nowt.

Must say, that as we were walking back to the car we were held up by the scunny coaches leaving with police escort and rovers fans wer clapping each coach as it passed and although some of the scunny fans were flagging us, a lot more were also clapping us back.
