Evening chaps
I've just spotted on DROS that Terry Burdass, the Lottery Manager is leaving. But more interestingly, the article mentioned that there are now 3,000 supporters who subscribe. So, can anyone tell me:
1) How much a weekly subscription is?
2) Any idea of the % of revenue given back in prizes?
Thanks chaps. I'll be ever so grateful. :)
Cheers

Just noticed this week's winner.
DONCASTER ROVERS LOTTERY RESULTS
Posted on: Mon 26 Apr 2010
Winning Number - 7101
CONGRATULATIONS TO J Lewis, Doncaster, wins £4000
Could it be our very own Jack \"THE TACHE\" Lewis.

Hang on a minute.
£1 a go.....3,000 weekly subscribers....and a Mr J Lewis wins the weekly prize of £4000!?!
No wonder we're always bloody skint...

Thanks Eastender. And lets assume the Rovers are sane just for sec, Snod.
Revenue pa at a quid a week each £156K
Less
Terry Burdass' wages/NI £ 30K
Petrol collection/delivery £ 19K
Printing £ 5K
Prizes @ 50% of revenue £ 78K
Total £132K
So, despite the total guesswork in all the cost numbers, and assuming only a quid a wek each, we end up with a net profit of somewhere around £24K.
I suspect my numbers are over pessimistic - though I haven't included anything for bad debts. But even so, what do we reckon a reasonable net profit should be? £50K? Not a huge amount for all the work involved.
Cheers

Actually I stupidly assumed everyone buys 1 ticket.
With a payout of £4k it sounds like 3000 x £2 or £3 is more likely.
-
Now that would make it all rather worthwile wouldn't it? Could be looking at £150K pa net plus with that. Wouldn't have to pay petrol or wages three times would we? :)
Thanks Snods.

and all the smaller prizes are donated by local buisnesses like local pubs and restaurants thus costing the club nothing
you can more than half the wage estimate i know its no where near that amount
and the rest of you that didnt know how it works because you never bought a ticket should know that some of the prizes are really great
take it from me ive won 2 prices this week a meal at manvers and a beauty voucher
the jackpot twice 3,000 once and 500 once
loads of fish& chip suppers a frankie and benny meal voucher for £25 quid and
a few cash prizes of £25
call me lucky but youve got to be init....
and the club gets a bit for my troubles :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
