Going by my theory that the best footballers are ugly mothers, I'm going to have a tenner on uscro get promoted next year.
-
Jonathan Hayes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Hayes) Age 22 Winger 34 apps (10 goals)
Adam Rooney (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Rooney) Age 22 Striker 64 apps (28 goals)
-
I know of Adam Rooney. He's scored loads of goals against Queen of the South and it's been a topic of conversation with my QOTS supporting Dad.
-
Both look decent, I have heard of Adam Rooney, of course he's been banging in the goals. They've both seem to have failed in England mind, but maybe development under Terry Butcher has led them to be good enough. We will only find out of course by signing them! If we can get them both on reasonable fees I say go for it, must be something in this one.
-
We cant possibly sign Adam Rooney. He's 6'2\"!!!!!!
Far too tall.
-
According to the Inverness website he's banged in 25 goals in 30 appearances this year. Last season he was used as a sub.
Also says he's 5 foot 10, so maybe there is something in it.

The problem I have with us seeking out raw talent in lower leagues is understanding how they will get enough competitive games to develop. As we do not operate a reserve side any young talent we unearth either through our youth setup or by signing players like these 2 can only get regular competitive football by going out on loan (eg Fisher and Clarke, who are both at non league clubs). Could be a question for JR/Sean at next seasons VSC meeting.

quite an interesting part in this artical
when Stoke City graduated from the Coca-Cola Championship, but it was too much too soon.
“I left them just after we got promoted,” he says. “I had been out on loan and hadn’t really featured that year, so I didn’t feel part of it, but if I’m ever lucky enough to get that far again, I’d love to have a crack at it. You want to play at as high a level as you can, and for me, that’s the Premiership.”

Reminds me of Richard Offiong, failed with us,then scored for fun with Hamilton in the Scottish 1st division, then failed down here again with Carlisle and now playing in Sweden.

putting 2 and 2 together and getting 84 if he plays well as a lone striker does this mean no billy sharp? or are we keeping several irons in the fire?

Sounds like he's a tall, strong player, so my guess would be that he'd be a good partner for billy sharp :)

A decent clip above. Hayes is number 11.

Hayes seems like a pacy right winger who likes to take people on. Rooney seems more a goal poacher than a big target man.

I've watched Inverness play a couple of times when I've been up there with work.
Rooney is one that I remember (due to his name). He looked poor on both occassions in a poor standard of football. Some of the Conference teams would beat the likes of these teams. I saw him when they were in the Premiership last season. Didn't do anything for me then.
One good thing about Inverness Caly Thistle. I bought a shirt for my lad and they let me have the season ticket discount of 10% because I said I was a Donny Rovers season ticket holder.
They were very pleased I'd taken the time to go and watch them.

A community club with community type values.
In actual fact thats a bloody good idea, a season ticket holder with a rival/other club gives you say 10 or 5% off in your club shop it may just increase sales on pin badges and that type of prove it I went there type merchandise.

Well i think if we signed these two lads it would be a good start to the summer. I have a friend who is a patrick thistle fan and he was telling me that Rooney ripped them apart both games this season. They've both been in this league and didn't do alot, now theyve had a season of constant football and grown. Snodgrass came from that league and i wouldnt mind him in the rovers team. Plus don't forget there only 22, they can adapt and are still learning.
