Title: A switcharoo???
Post by: Shawndrfc on May 05, 2010, 04:58:54 pm
With this rumour that Gareth Roberts is on his way to derby, i was thinking about a replacement and the one that stood out was Jay McEverly. He just released at Derby and is a good player.

Any thoughts?

I think he was high wages, not sure how good a signing he'd be if he isn't wanted by Derby. Not sure myself, but there are plenty of players knocking about as potential replacements.

£15k a week for a average full back. No thanks. I live between notts and derby, and he isnt rated massively. Nothing about the roberts to derby down here yet, but that dont mean owt!

I thought he was crap when we played Derby away this season.

Although I seem to remember he put in a few decent crosses in the return fixture.

I thought he was crap playing them at home.

He seemed to just boot the ball as far as he could everytime he touched it in the first half hour or so.

If McEverly was left back for our home game against Derby then it's a huge no for me.

It was the worst performance I've seen from a left back for a while. I lost count of the times he sliced the ball into touch when under no pressure at all.

He did score that peach of a goal in the Cup game, though!
