Always thought he was a cracking player, injury plagued career at Middlesbrough. Could fit in well with us.
Wages could be a problem though.
-
I cant see it to be honest. He strikes me as the sort of arrogant player who still thinks he should be playing in the premiere league and would have wage demands to match. Also, we could do without another injury prone striker at the club.
-
Esajas from Sheff Weds would be a decent bet, the lad is a winger but i reckon he could play on the left side of a diamond formation or just off the striker, bags of pace, skilful and had a decent shot on him. Never seemed to get a decent crack of the whip under Irvine (for unknown reasons)
-
Didn't fit in with the Wendies, can't imagine why, maybe he can play football! He would become an excellent Copps type midfielder after a year or so with SOD.
-
Rumour on Teesside is he's off to Fulham
-
A fine example of an overpaid, overrated fairy if ever I saw one. If Rovers start signing the likes of him we're in deep shit. Brooker on one leg will play with more desire and committment !!
-
Exactly my point pal. Aliadierre would be no where near value for money. As for Esajas. Hes a luxury player. Thats why he didnt get a game for wednesday. After they realised they were in a dog fight he was exactly the type of player they didnt need. As a left footed winger i think he would be a decent 'gamble' for us. the only problem would be that he doesnt contribute much the team or defensively so he would have to score and create goals on a regular basis to get in the team.

he doesn't contribute much the team or defensively
Hmm - although he is small in stature and I'm sure that he could sort his hair to look more like Pricey's .... and he was once in the Championship Team of the Week (18/08/08 - Sharp was also in that selection for Sheff. U) ... but a Wendy? ... No thanks

Graeme Lee anyone?

Rovers ex Wendies heroes anyone?
I give you Brian Usher, Alan Warboys (when he came back) and our course 'our very own' Paul Green actually started with the Wendies youth
Then there's Glyn Snodin when he came back as assistant to Ian
And Harold Wilcockson the second time around as well
I am sure there are plenty I have missed
-
Well ....
Snodin G was ours before he went to Sheffield as was Warboys - Paul Green, I'm sick of hearing about him, Graeme Lee was solid so I'll grant you that one.
So it's OK - but what I should have said \"A Dutch Wendy - NO thanks!\"

LOL
Hi EN (Yes I remembered  )
I wasn't actually passing comment on Esajas or even making any comments because he is Dutch - I was rather innocently trying to see if I could think of any Ex Wendies who became Rovers heroes - bit of a let down I'm afraid
And I don't rate the current crop of Wendies
-
No they're a disappointing bunch .... Beevers has had some good moments, that ex-Bradford winger flatters on occasion, but they're a team that has no real stars and if I were Irvine I'd be clearing as many of them out as possible.
-
What about Simeon Jackson? Could be affordable now Gillingham have been relegated.

Ian Nimmo, Hugh Dowd, Archie Irvine?
Another three like that would do me.
-
Alan Finney.....And of course Lawrie McMenemy was Wednesday's trainer before being appointed Rovers manager.
-
I know that this is just a game...... but talking about the past is just mischief.
When I typed \"But a Wendy\" I actually meant one of the bunch that are currently on the books there - not historical figures - but no I wouldn't take Hugh Dowd back either - he's far too old and slow!
-
When I walked past the Wednesday training ground just before the last game of the season, I actually saw 5 of their players playing football with a hedgehog. Now I'm the type of guy that hates to see un-necessarry suffering and was about to step in and stop this mauling. However, their coach told me with only 2 minutes to go the hedgehog was only 3-1 up, and that they fancied pulling off a draw.
