Video interview with John Dicken on rovers site and he sounded quite positive about Brooker being ready by pre-season. If he is he could be the answer, especially alongside Billy Sharp!
-
The lad has just had a season out of the game - he could only be deemed a squad player at best, IF he gets through pre-season unscathed!

Agreed. If there's optimism now then that means he should be able to train for most if not all of pre-season, he can easily be considered for starting once the season gets up and running.

Accurate though, Brooker is a professional player, every player is out of match practice at the start of the season, so Brooker starts on a level footing with everybody else so long as he is fully fit. Being professional I suspect he will be working through the summer to make sure that is the case. I hope he gets his chance next season, he could make a BIG impact with our squad. :)

Pre-what season though? 2011-12? :)

I bloody well hope so, I've been bigging him up ever since I saw him that day at Watford.
Will we ever hear the Super, Super, Super Steve shouts ??

I think he will take his chances, most of his injuries are well documented as not his fault (poor treatment previously) :(
Clearly and rightly so the club see something in him and are standing by him, in SOD we trust :scarf:
He is too good a player to be on the scrap heap, for his sake I hope it comes off for him.
Oh by the way, I need a new name on me home top now my hero Heffs has moved on!

He'll be injured within a couple of games. I'm willing to put money on it.
Face it, he's an injury prone liability hogging up wages.

It's always useful to have an optimistic outlook on life isn't it!? :woohoo:

He's probably right though isnt he.

No, no, it's a realist view.
Anyone who says otherwise is only trying to kid themselves. He's about done. Here, anyway.
Thought I'd add this on before people go ape-shit:
He's done here, which is unfortunate because he could've made a difference when he came here and he's been unlucky. A risk, but one that didn't pay off, unlike how we payed him off... poor pun.

After reading the enthusiam of OP I tried to listen to this 14.5 minute interview and cannot get through more than about 4 minutes due to pathetic recording and the dismal download of the interview. I even tried leaving it paused for 30 minutes to see if I could hear it in one go and its shite. I should note that I have download speed of at least 6Mbps.

I do hope Brooker can play in the team though as he would be a real asset. I suppose SOD will plan for the worse and hope he can get fit for the next season.
-
That is why we should not dismiss the chance of him playing, basically we do not have a single clue unless you talk to the player himself and get information that way. If he is on our books still, more likely than not Sean has a plan to make hiom worth our time and money. That is of course if you trust the manager or you know far more than him.....

I doubt that very much - Brooker's injuries have come because he was so important to BC he was played when not fully fit, which made his injuries worse - he will either be 100% & play for us - or he wont play at all.
As you seem to be well informed, could you let us know how much SB is on so we know if the wages he will free up will allow us to sign a championship player or conference one?
Still it's good to know you are a better judge of people's fitness and ability than Sean O'Driscoll, hopefully you will put in for the managers job when he does eventually go.
