Title: Leeds 5th Favourites to go up
Post by: donvicks on May 10, 2010, 01:10:05 am
...according to Skybet.

I cant see Boro being up there cos I dont think strachen is good enough. Reading have a good chance as they played really well towards the end.
Leeds probably have 5 or 6 players which can handle the Championship which like Leicester could give them them the winning mentality and base to do well along with some decent signings. Even if they lose Beckford they will attract someone like Hooper or Sharp.
The teams coming down usually bounce back up but Pompey are crippled with debt and I think Burnley are the only ones within a shout of a place next season.
Im not surprised Leeds are 5th favs and they will want payback time from the Wembley defeat.

I honestly see a different Leeds outfit when we visit them next season.they wont be steeling to survive the season they will want to mean business.

Donvicks, why are all your posts about Leeds ... and even worse praising them?

...because he/she is a Leeds troll who is obviously rattled by our recent success, and is still bitter that they were outclassed three times in one season, including at Wembley in front of a TV audience of millions.

It's going to be a giggle watching them struggle with a substandard squad, as Bates continues to syphon off more and more cash from the gloryhunters pockets into his collection of offshore blackholes.

Trolling from the OP aside there is a valid point in there that next season could be the most open/unpredictable there's been for years.

I don't consider any of the 3 coming down good enough to run away with the title and there are 2 teams coming up that would seemingly have the budget to improve their squads. Blackpool and Leicester were surprise packages this year but there's no guarentee they'd challenge again if they didn't go up (think Bristol City?).

Whilst I've always backed our boards sensible approach to financial matters if they fancied stretching the budget for a tilt at success (not that they are obliged to of course) then the 2010/11 season might be the wisest gamble....

Not sure how Leeds will perform next season. If they consolidate on the cheap and do not strengthen enough, they might struggle IMO.

If they buy 3-5 good CCC players, they might be in the upper echelons. The advantage they have this year, is they are not/not just the only big club in the League. Unlike last season, it was everyone else's Cup final and they(opposite team) probs played at 110%. I'm not sure they will have that hurdle to overcome this next season.

As long as Donny take 6 points off them, they can do what they like.

The only good thing about Leeds is I have been promised a trip to Bellend Rd to watch the knuckle draggers in action...And Leeds united of course..lol

Heres hoping I can keep my record of watching us thrash the buggers.... :)

As to this list thingy, With Beckford gone, putting them above Norwich in the odds table is rather wishful thinking isn't it?
