Thats the number of players we have at the club at the moment, including players we have offered new contracts to, with the rumours of roberts going and brooker been injured aswell as players like Dumbuya and robbie clarke said to been 'for the future.' I am quite worried that our squad may lack depth come the start of the season. Yes our aims are said to be bringing in a striker a midfielder and a defender but surely we need more than that?

Plus the later we make any ptoential signings, the les time those players have to bed in.
Get players in early, get them accumstomed to their new surroundings / team mates/ management team and hit the ground running.

Think of the fortune in wages we are saving. :)

I agree
Also surely there should be some news soon on players signing new contracts, especially Oster - he is a must.

Most contracts seem to expire in June, dont know if that is at start of or end of, but as June is almost always quoted i assume end of. Club may indeed be \"Talking\" to potential addittions, and may have been for some time, as in final 6 months of a contract players are free to talk to who they like, so thats a real possibility. However, i doubt they can be signed until contract expiry.
If DRFC were about to spend, then of course they could now sign who they want, so long as all is agreed with player and his club, but why pay out wages for 2 months for no return.
I cant see much if any movement in until end of june to be honest.

Not to starts scaremongering or rumours, but i've been doing a bit of work for someone who is apparently a very good friend of Mickey Walker, who has told him that none of the contract renewals have been accepted by the players, and that they are trying to negotiate higher wages/longer contracts.
Probably crap, but who knows. Maybe the out of contract players feel they have proven themselves at this level and now feel they could get more elsewhere, eg Roberts.

Heard yesterday that there are 8 other teams looking to offer Oster a contract!! The source is usually pretty reliable but if correct could mean he's on his way??

I hate the term 'You snooze you lose' - but it seems to be really apt in football terms. I hope Rovers arent going to let history repeat itself.

I'm usually quite impatient too. But let's remember that whilst our season has ended, the play-off teams havent!
For example, say Nathan Tyson is a target. If Forest go up, are they likely to keep him? Probably not, but we're not going to sign him yet.
The same can apply in an array of circumstances from Jordan Rhodes, Billy Paynter, Adam Le Fondre etc etc.
We may have agreed to sign players on a free, when theyre contract expires! And no doubt there's still some players on holiday!

Players cant be signed until next transfer window opens ( unless they were \"Unattached\" at season end), therefore 1st July ( i think) is as early as anyone can be signed.

The way i see it is the club as never let us down before and i am sure they won't again. Its no good saying we are sort on numbers annd the squad is to small. We have just let a load of players go and NEW ONES WILL BE SIGNED FACT.
