since the rovers started to climb the leagues again
still one of if not the best rovers memories for me when Sir Francis scored that goal
quality day

Doesn't seem like 7 years ago.Anyway Happy St Francis Day : :)

God, I can't belive it. I remember the goal going in and then standing shocked for a few seconds, as we were not sure if it really was a goal or who had scored!!! Then jumping for joy and dancing and hugging anybody within reach :woohoo:
A good reminder to all the JCL, how far we have come in such a short time!! :scarf:

The greatest day supporting Rovers. Can't believe it was seven years ago, still remember the events very clearly. It was better than beating Leeds at Wembley for me.

Doesn't time fly when your having fun!

I remember that feeling all too well and it DOES seem a long way off - and still for me remains very slightly above the Wembley victory (but god it is only just)
Remember the header by the Daggers at the same end that was offside but would have counted and promoted them ?
As for the goal scorer - it was not just you who did not know. I stayed in the Ground for ages and as I finally left and walked for the bus back into Stoke someone asked who scored the goal . Of the 10 or 15 Rovers Fans walking around me only one knew
Franny Tierney he said and we all just accepted he was right and caried on rabbiting
On getting back to Stoke I met up with Mrs DW for the journey home and as she did not really know anything of Football and the significance of THAT particular game she asked \" well what happenened\"
My reply was \" Rovers won\"
\"What does that mean ?\" she replied
\"It means instead of Shopping in Lancaster Leek and Leigh you can now go shopping in York Lincoln and Mansfield !\"
AND both of us were delighted but for VERY different reasons

How long before she`s shopping in Milan, Paris and Madrid?

.... unless they invent some wonder drug I dont think either of us will cling on THAT long !!!
I really hope that Rovers eventually make the top tier but obviously there would need to be another cash injection a la Wigan Reading Leicester although Bradford Barnsley & Burnley seemed to do it without
So you never know - one day it may happen - WELL for an unelectable spent political force just 13 years ago the Tories have made it back so hey anythings possible !
