McCabe has been desperate to get out for over 6 months. That is why Blackwell hasnt been sacked. If he sacks Blackwell and brings another manager in, any new owners might have their own ideas on who they want. Its easier to then sack Blackwell from whats left of his contract (a year, I think) than a new man who would require a bigger payout.
