Joma Cup line-up confirmed

THE LINE-UP for the 2010 Joma South West Challenge Cup has been confirmed.

Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League side Kilmarnock are one of 12 teams due to play in the seven-day tournament starting in North Devon on July 19.

Established Coca Cola Championship club Doncaster Rovers are the top-ranked English side on the list.

League One outfit Leyton Orient, and League Two's Accrington Stanley and Shrewsbury Town are the other Coca Cola Football League clubs.

From the Blue Square League, Rushden and Diamonds, and Eastleigh will be familiar to football fans in the area.

The Diamonds, fourth in the Blue Square Premier last season, took part in last year's tournament while Eastleigh are back for a third year having won the inaugural competition in 2008.

Eastleigh's Blue Square South rivals, and Hampshire neighbours Havant and Waterlooville will also be coming to North Devon.

As well as the local interest from Barnstaple Town, Bideford and Ilfracombe Town, fans of Truro City are sure to make the journey north to follow their team.

Matches will be staged at Barnstaple Town, Bideford, Ilfracombe, Torrington and for the first time this year at Holsworthy.

Tickets are available now from the website www.southwestchallengecup.moonfruit.com.

Flexi-tickets are available permitting one adult and one child to all 12 group games for £15. Pensioners can buy a concessionary ticket for all the group games for £10.

There is a limit of 1000 flexi-tickets and 250 pensioner's tickets on sale until June 30.

That £15 ticket appears to only cover the \"12 Preliminary Round\" matches. So a bit of travelling is in order to make it worthwhile.

Rather have Scotland or Ireland but I suppose this is the next best thing, should be fun.

Just been trying to work out format with the dates. I'm guessing there will be 4 groups of 3 teams so you play 2 group games probably on Mon 19th and Wed 21st with 2 semi-finals for the 4 group winners on Fri 23rd and the final on Sunday 25th. Sounds like a good week !

Just been announced that the draw for this competition will be made at 2.30pm on 14th June. Will wait to see where Rovers are based before booking hotel. Anybody any plans for where to stay in the area ?

Found a few places that do static caravans for week, so me and my mate are doing that. Cheaper than hotels, but better than camping and youth hostels.

Downside of a youth hostel is that if you find a pub in the village, you've f**ked it haha. Lights out at 11pm or something like that.

Pretty sure they will be based in Barnstable, I'm off only for the 1st. half of the week otherwise I would have gone . It sounds spot on location, weather, beer, sunshine and above all the Rovers............heaven.
