Who's joe garner?
-
Id rather have Ex West Indian pace legend Joel Garner, he'd do a job at the back for us, thats where we r suseptable.

Would that be Football Rumours website?
FYI Night porter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Garner
-
aint he at forest?
-
Decent player, Forest fans seem to think he's not had much of a chance there because of all their strikers. Scored loads for Carlisle in League 1 IIRC.
-
Forest Forward, he's not proven.
-
football rumors. (?)
(what is that)
No i just got a phone call off a member of drfc.
-
Hmmmm Coincidence!

My dad works at the city ground (cannot reveal his role) but this is 100% true.
Joe Garner is heading to Doncaster Rovers by early next week at the latest. He is keen to join for first team football and has already been to discuss terms with them this week. He almost went to Doncaster in the summer but Billy wanted him to play more games but things havent worked out that way. Good luck Joe.
Disapointed forest fan.
-
Does your source happen a certain Football Rumours website by any chance?
-
mate i dont even know what site this is on. (?)
i know a member of drfc and this is what he has told me.
-
No worries JW2
I had just readthe he Joe Garner thing on FR prior to coming on here
-
Its ok.
:)
-
Good player and can score goals. He's in a very similar situation to what Sharp was in last summer.
-
Worth a gamble maybe.
Would command a decent fee though.
-
Not a loan then?
-
If we're lucky £600k
Unlucky? Over a 7 figure fee
-
we be a very good signing for us and also scored a great goal against us for Carlisle at keepmoat
-
The same Joe Garner that cost Forest £1.2 million.
I'll believe it when I'm sat in it!
-
I likes him and he impressed me at Carlisle. He just looked lost at Forest. However one feels if he comes, then Billy may not. I prefer Billy, but if he's a no no, then the West Indian giant of a bowler will be a good addition.
-
He is someone that SO'D has spoken highly of in the past. Good player and would make an excellent alternative if we couldn't get Sharp, but I would be surprised if we made a move for a big money striker before any option of bringing in Billy is exhausted.
It's difficult not to be sceptical of JW2's sources, named four clubs that were after Ward and said he would sign for one of them within a month, he then signed for another the day after. Claimed a scoop on John Oster signing a new deal after it appeared in The Free Press. Now we have Garner after it has appeared on, er, Football Rumours.
Credit if it turns out to be true, but we'll see....
-
could someone post a link to this rumor site because i dont have a clue what you are talking about. (sorrry)

Sorry, we don't do 7 figure fees. (unless selling).

he signed for forest in 2008 so has been there 2 years will have at most 2 years left more likely 1
if you apply the same fee principles to him that you do to BS who is in a similiar boat contract wise
then he will be £500,000 tops probably significantly less
-
he has 2 years left i think.

I quite agree, Jon. Maybe the thought of us withdrawing our interest in Billy will make SUFC reconsider our excellent offer? Billy would like to come, believe me.
-
sounds like he might be coming

I'm quite excited by this. I thought he was excellent at Carlisle

Sharp would always be my first choice, but if we absolutely couldn't get him then I would agree that Garner would be an excellent alternative. From what I remember of watching him at Carlisle he had a good allround game and has the same kind of workrate/desire as Sharp.

Two up top?
Don't be daft. We have to play one off the main man with three supporting in a pincer movement whilst not forgetting their defensive duties by filling in at full back when the centre backs have a spell in goal after Sully has dribbled forward.
;)

This rumours seems to have gone quiet then. Anybody know any more on Mr Garner?
-
