Just supposing Rovers signed Billy Sharp. Would this mean that many fans will change their attitudes and believe that the glass is now half full rather than half empty? I believe that many would, and there would be increased expectations of a successful season. However the question then would be that as the bar is raised, does it really make the glass half full? Well I think not, it just makes the glass bigger. That is why no matter what team it is, their glass will never be full, and those who try to fill it go bust.
Perhaps we can take positives from Rovers being late out of the stalls when signing players in close season. Maybe keeping fans pessimistic through lack of signings will keep our feet on the ground making any eventual signing a bonus?

You know what BB, I think I share your perspective here. There are those for whom the glass is half full, (count me amongst them) who I will call the realists, and then the glass half empty brigade, I have a few names for them also, and then the irritating few for whom the glass... well it doesn't even contain the sodding drink they think they ordered. :S
