GATESHEAD have given former Doncaster Rovers wide man Craig Nelthorpe the chance to get his career back on track.
Manager Ian Bogie has swooped for the left-sided player after the 22-year-old endured a disappointing season on and off the pitch at York City.
Nelthorpe, who made 11 appearances for hometown club Doncaster, failed to make a start for York and finished the season on loan at Conference high-fliers Luton Town.
He was also one of four York players charged with affray following a disturbance in the Minster city last summer, with sentencing due in September.
The flying winger, however, believes he can put his past problems behind him and turn over a new leaf at Gateshead, a club he knows well.
Nelthorpe said: “Relocating to Tyneside and playing for Gateshead will give me a fresh start and Ian Bogie is one of the best managers I have played under.
“My first spell on loan at Gateshead when I was a teenager was great and I scored eight goals in 18 games.

He's not well liked on the conference forum. Too far up his own arse apparantley. They think its about his level though and should do well
